Another thread made me wonder how many sick and personal days everyone gets a year? Do you get to accumulate any, roll them over? And, do you get reimbursed if you leave your district? I get... Sick - 13 days (all roll over) Personal - 5 days (two are floating holidays) use them or lose them. We can accumulate up to 125 sick days (use to be 100 days, it was just increased) And we do NOT get reimbursed if we leave our district!
What are floating holidays? I get 10 sick days that roll over every year. I get 3 personal days and one rolls over if now used, so this year I had 4 which I didn't use (I'm a little ashamed of that). We don't get reimbursed either if we live but when you retire you can get paid for up to 100 sick days. I worked for a district that gave 16 sick days a year that rolled over and 2 personal days that rolled over into sick days the following year if unused!!
We get 12 sick, 3 personal. (Also, 3 or 5 planning days, depending if we are intermediate or primary, respectively) The sick accumulate, and once we hit a certain amount (I forgot what that is), we can cash out at a 4-to-1 ratio any unused ones of the previous year as long as the minimum is held. The personal accumulate to 5 maximum held at any given time. We can choose to get any of those days paid out. The planning days are use-or-lose, though we can also get paid out at the sub rate for any that we do not use.
Hi! A floating holiday is when school is in session on a holiday. Now we get to take another day off as our ''holiday'' one being Lincoln's Birthday, we get a floater for that, its used like a personal day and we can take it whenever we want to. I believe the other is Veteran's Day.
10 sick days a year. No personal days (though technically, they aren't allowed to ask if you're really sick or what you're using your sick day for). They do roll-over but we don't get reimbursed for them if we leave.
10 sick days, 5 "other" days--family illness, moving, convocation, bereavement, etc., no personal days. Unused days (we used to get 20) used to be able to be carried over, but that was lost a couple of years ago in a government-imposed contract; all of our banked days were taken away then as well.
I get far less than anything anyone's stated so far. Ours don't roll over, and I firmly believe in using them!
Unpaid leave. You get maybe a week or two, tops, paid for. ETA: Never really considered that. That's kind of messed up! Obviously a new parent needs more time than that.
We get 10 sick and 4 personal day. Personal days are use or lose, but sick days roll over and can be banked.
10 sick, 3 personal. Unused sick go into 'bank' We get paid at retirement for up to 180 days of unused sick days.
We get 10 PTO days to use as we see fit. We can roll over 2 for a total of 12 days each year. Hence, I don't feel bad about using them.
When we were able to bank our days, I rarely used more than 3 or 4 a year. Now that we can't, I use most of them.
We get about 15 sick days per year. Unused sick days roll over and accumulate without limit. If you have a certain number in your 29th year, you can retire a year early with full retirement benefits. We get one flex day that can be used at any time for any reason. If you don't use it, I think it rolls over as a sick day. Personal days depend on how many sick days you used the previous year. Unused personal days are paid out at around $100 per day (but I think it's better to go ahead and use them up).
State law is 15 sick and 3 personal and sick roll over. In my district unused personal roll over into sick days. Small payout at retirement for unused days.
I get five days that I may use as needed. They do roll over and transfer to other Texas districts. My current district does not offer any local days.
10 sick and 1 personal. they both roll over. I think personal days only go up to 5 but I'm not sure. Sick days are continuously accumulating.
I get 10 sick days and 2 personal days. All days roll over year to year with no limits. Sick days roll over to sick days. We don't get paid for them so many teacher use them the year of retirement for extended leaves.
I wish we got paid for our unused personal days...even 2 or 3 a year, I would be happy with.....put it towards the summer.
15 sick days per year. Can bank like 280 or something. You're paid out on retirement for a percentage of that. 3 personal days. If you don't use any of them, they roll over into one sick day. Otherwise it's use them or lose them.
I'm not sure how much we get because it is way more than what I will ever use so I wasn't really curious to look it up. On my paycheck it says I have about 180 hours, which adds up to maybe 6 weeks? We work 6.75 hr / day. So obviously most of them roll over. We also get 2 no-tell-days / year, they can't ask what it's for and can't stop us from taking it, except for if it's right before or after a holiday. I don't think those roll over.
