Should I contact HR?

I just scheduled my first interview for the coming school year. It is a phone interview since I have not moved home yet. The position is a vocal music middle/high school split.

When I talked to the HR person on the phone, I was going to express my interest in being considered for regular elementary positions as well, but I forgot. I don't really think I want to teach high school, but I need a job for next year and would probably take it if offered. I would love to move back into a regular elementary job.

Do you think it would be ok to contact HR and let them know that I would like to be considered for other jobs as well? Or should I just assume they know I'm interested in those positions? I did apply for both, but I'm worried about not being considered since I've taught music the last two years. If I do contact her, would phone or email be best?

I'm sure I'm overthinking everything (like usual), but I was just really hoping for the chance to go back to my own class!

Send an email with that information along with your thank you note.
