Should I call this principal....UPDATE!!!! Hey, everyone. A principal that I interviewed with last week emailed me yesterday in response to my thank you email. She asked if I would be interested in a fourth grade position! I didn't get the email until today, so I apologized for the delay and said that I absolutely would be interested. She responded almost immediately and said, "Let's meet and talk and sign some papers. When would be a good day/time for you?" I responded quickly saying that I could come in any time tomorrow morning, and that I would be on my honeymoon next week, so I would not be here. I sent that at 9 this morning, and I never received a response! My plan is to wait until about 9:00 AM, and if there is no email, maybe I should call? What would you do? I hate being left hanging! Lol. Fingers crossed!!!!!
That sounds great! I would wait until around 10am so the principal has time to settle in before you call. It's possible they were busy or not in building today which may be why they didn't respond.
Congratulations! I think it would be ok to call, since time is of the essence. And, thank you for illustrating why little things like thank you notes and emails are SO important! You just never know!
Thanks everyone! I called, but found out that she is out today. I can come tomorrow, and I don't think she will be there on Friday because I know that they are conducting more interviews. Next week won't work for me at all because I will be out of town. So, do you think I should send her a second email letting her know that I am also available to come in tomorrow?
Glad you called. And yes I would send an email, saying that you called today, would be available tomorrow, and ask what times would be convenient for her. Good luck!
Thanks!!! That's what I did, and now I'm waiting to hear back Their school doesn't start until 8:30, so I'm giving her plenty of time this morning. I'm so excited! I hope she hasn't changed her mind or anything. I feel like "sign papers" means I have the job, right? But I'm not counting my chickens until they hatch! I haven't told many people. Not until the papers are signed and I have been given the title of a fourth grade teacher!
So, it's 9:15 and I haven't heard anything. Should I call again in an hour or so if I don't receive an email from her? Thanks! I don't want to annoy her, but I am eager to get in and sign my papers! haha.
CatnFiddle, do you think it's okay to call twice? Since I called yesterday, and have emailed twice...
UPDATE.... I let it be, and she emailed me back. I came in this afternoon and signed papers!!!!! I am their new fourth grade teacher! I CAN'T BELIEVE I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It hasn't really sunk in and I don't know where to start. They aren't sure if we will be doing self contained or departmentalized yet, so I am not sure which subjects to buy decor for or anything. How stressful!!! But I don't care. I'm ecstatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is fantastic news! I don't even know you, but I'm so proud of the way you kept a positive attitude throughout the process, and was persistent! I've said it often-a positive attitude, confidence, and a persistent nature are what is required to get what you want this hiring season! Way to go!
