I need a short (30 minute) holiday/winter movie to show to my class on Wednesday afternoon. I usually show the Grinch, but my VCR isn't working, and I only have it on VHS. Any suggestions? I really hate the claymation Frosty and Rudolph, so I won't be showing that. Would a Charlie Brown Christmas be appropriate (I haven't seen it in years, so I don't remember)?

    Thanks!

Charlie Brown has some religious material in it. I would stay away from that one unless you watch it first and check for your school.

You can get the Grinch on DVD.

Good to know, thanks! A teacher in the next room over mentioned she had Charlie Brown on DVD, which is why I asked. I can't find anyone who has the Grinch, believe it or not. I could check the video store, but I'm assuming it will be difficult to find this time of year (I don't want to buy it myself).

I purchased the video The Snowman (based on the book) from Scholastic years ago and I love showing it. It's not long and not a lot of dialog, but the kids love it.

You can also buy The Grinch on iTunes, if you have the technology to play it that way.

I found the Disney Christmas Carol on DVD. It's at school so I'm not sure how long it is. (oops, Amazon says it's an hour long). How about Rudolph or Frosty?

You could always just show the beginning of a Christmas movie and when time runs out, it runs out. We have had to do that multiple times in the past.

Probably a bit late but each year I read A Christmas Carol to the kids and then watch Mickey's A Christmas Carol (1983) - goes for 30 min :)

I played Frosty the Snowman. It was exactly 30 minutes.

I just bought Hoops and YoYo ruin Christmas at Hallmark - was pretty cute.

My all time favorite Christmas special is the Twas the Night Before Christmas with the mice.

Can you access youtube at school? Looks like the whole thing is right here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a46lTHxc1bo
