What are your favorite brands for teacher shoes? I'd like something comfortable and stylish I can wear with skirts and dresses. In the past, I've really liked Clarks. They're affordable, also - between $40 and $80. Danskos don't work for my feet, but I know those are popular!
My favorites are Sofft brand. I have had several pairs of them. I prefer a heel, and they have plenty of comfy ones.
Mine too. For nearly anything else, I'm fine with wearing cheap shoes, but in my classroom I want something that is going to be good even though I'm on my feet all day.
I wear Ecco shoes - I have lousy feet, and feel that I have tried them all. So far, Ecco works best. Similar softness to Clarks, which I have tried, as well as Naturalizers. Dansko also has shoes that I can sometimes wear.
I agree; Clarks are my favorite! I also love my Chacos for when its warmer outside and we get to dress more casual, which is Fridays for us.
I wear Naots. They're very pricey, but I don't have many pairs of shoes and they last a long time. I have very picky feet and they're the first brand I've found that works consistently for me.
Naturalizer- but only the N5 line. I have one pair that aren't N5 and boy, I can tell a difference! Walking Cradles are nice too, but run a tad wide. I wish I could try Clarks, but they don't make my size.
I have very expensive insoles...I think they're called "happy feet" I put them in every shoe I wear. I have major bunions and high high arches. I love these inserts.
I like Born and Jambu. My feet are happier if I switch out shoes and don't wear the same more than two days in a row.
Curious what makes your feet picky. Mine are flat, and have some arthritic changes, so something besides the joints and little bones has to work as the shock absorber for me.
Has anyone ever tried Tieks? I know they are outrageously expensive but I feel that many of the positive reviews may not be that accurate?
I'm curious about the same thing. I've heard many positive reviews, but I'm wondering if they're actually worth the price.
They're hard to fit, first of all (size 10.5, pretty narrow, flats with no straps fall off my feet for some reason). Other than that, there are no real medical reasons. A lot of shoes just tend to be painful, especially shoes I have to wear all day at work. My feet form blisters incredibly easy, so rubbing is an issue. Shoes that are too flat hurt me, too. I found Naots at some random small shoe store once and since they work for me I've never switched again. I think they're pretty good for shock absorption. They do run on the narrow side, which is perfect for me but not for everyone.
