I"m always looking to see what shoes teachers wear to work and stand in all day. I personally tend to gravitate towards black sneakers with dressy pants.

What are your "go to" shoes to wear at work all day on regular school days?

flats. I wore heels once and a student told me my tall height freaked him out.
Besides, I don't know HOW people wear heels all day. I am either sitting or squatting on the floor or walking around the room - none of these activities are great to do with heels. lol.
I could totally see myself wearing those ones pigeon linked.

Ive had co-workers that wear heels all of the time... I cant.

I wear comfy dress shoes (flats, Ive had some hushpuppies and they're great) I have some ballet flats too. Fridays are for tennis shoes.

I have a great principal who doesnt care if we wear flip flops... so those are my go-to shoes when its nice out.

Im thinking of getting a pair of jazz sneakers (dance shoes) again. I had a pair a long tme ago and they're so comfy and give good support...

Sketchers!!! Love 'em! I occasionally wear "mild" heels, but not often. When I do, they are usually Eurosoft or Aerosoles - both suuuuuuper comfortable brands!

Well Idk if this will change over time, but when i student taught (this upcoming year will be my first year teaching) I wore shoes with either a small 1-1 1/2 inch heel or wedge. Usually brown or black.

I try to mix it up a bit but mostly I will wear a slide with a 1" inch heel. I find that standing in flats all day really puts a strain on my lower back and feet. For some reason, a slight heel really helps me. I have really big feet so I can never find a pair of gym shoes that don't look completely like bowling or clown shoes in my size. I stick to gym shoes only for working out. LOL

I only used to wear heels when I was subbing because I subbed all the way up to 8th grade in my school and I needed to tower above the boys lol

I heart wedges. My favorite pair is black with some ruffles on the front, but my bunny thought they were lunch, so now they have little chew bites on the side. Boo.

I wear these to work. We have to wear 'slippers', so they give me some support and a bit of a heal while still keeping the spirit behind the slipper rule alive. I'm going to order a few more pairs in Sept. as I know they will run out, and my current pair is starting to show wear from being worn every single day.

    Flip flops all the way!

Through my student teaching and working in a restaurant for 4 years, I only wore heels, and now I can't spend more than about an hour in them! It stinks because at my school all the girls have a major shoe addiction. I am the shortest on my team (at 5'2"), but the only one that doesn't wear heels on a daily basis. I think it is really dumb that our girls that are 5'8" are running around in 3 inch heels, but I guess thats just my opinion cause I'm short, lol.

I wear sandals or loafers - most have about a 3" heel. I wear mostly Born or Clarks which are extremely comfortable. Flip-flops are not an option for us, so on casual days I usually wear tennis shoes.

Skechers are my favorite thing to wear to school...I've found that they'll last at least a year without starting to hurt your feet, they're comfy, and they're cute :)

I have a cute pair of mary jane looking shoes that are really tennis shoes. I bought them for like 10 bucks at Payless last summer. I need to find another pair because mine are getting a hole in the sole. :'(

I have black and brown dress shoes. But I also wear my tennis shoes. Just depends on what type of pants I am wearing.
I usually wear the tennis shoes twice a week (always on Friday).

Gotta try and stay comfy as much as possible.

Lol...you all are lucky. My district must be hard core but we can't wear any type of crocs or sneakers! I normally wear ballet flats or 1 -1 1/2 heels.

Wow! Those are cute- I never would have thought they would be cute! I like them.
I also have tons of high heels in every color- I just had to buy some Vera Wang heels from Kohls- sadly black, I would love them in pink or something lol.... these ones because they were on sale!
http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/lan...y+Vera+Vera+Wang+Marjoram+PeepToe+Sandals.jsp I won't be wearing those in the early childhood classroom.

    Flats it is at school.

I have a pair of Bass shoes that look like Birkenstocks (sp?) in tan and black. They have a squishier insole than birks and I love them!!!

I wear sneakers. During the hotter weather, I have various sandals.

We stopped at the Clarks outlet on the way home from the beach, and I got the following shoes, for a total of $50, all together! Woot, woot! Priva shoes are supremely comfy. They have "massaging" nubs in the interior and they stimulate the blood flow to your feet.

LOVE ballet slippers, but honestly because I have a pretty low arch, my ankle hurt in these by the end of the day. I also love Arerosoles, they are really trendy and sooooo comfy.

I am often barefoot  Or in flip-flops.

I LOVE shoes- heels especially. Unfortunately, my feet were not designed to wear them all day. So, I will wear heels and change into flip-flops (and I eventually kick those off and end up barefoot) while in the classroom. When out of my room, the heels are back on.

    I love buying shoes!

This will be my 10th year teaching and my shoe experience has changed throughout those years!

My first few years of teaching I wore very high heeled sandals in the warm weather and high heeled dressy boots in the winter. I had an amazing pair of Nine West knee-high leather boots in black! Loved those!

When I moved from the DC area to South Florida I packed all the shoes I owned, but rarely touched the majority of them. A few years ago I parted with the beloved Nine West Heeled boots...

What I did part with during the move was tights and stockings! I figured hot climate -- no need!

I had high hopes at my first Florida teaching job regarding shoes. Too bad, so sad, I learn on day 1 that we are not allowed to wear any open toe or open back shoes. Day 2 I learn that all dresses/skirts must be worn with pantyhose and that most of the ladies favor the nude color, which I always used to call "clear."

At that school I wore a lot of ballet flats from Target -- had them in many colors!! Then one week I got something called a "heel spur." The doctor said that my Target shoes were NOT supportive enough.. :(

Now I swear by Clarks!! They are the best and have a variety of colors and styles and they're good quality. But they last!!!

I'm a Florida girl and flip-flops are an all year perfect shoe. I have them in all colors & styles. With a nice pedicure they look great with everything! :)
