Black shoes are fine with navy.

Otherwise, I would suggest cognac or silver, depending on the rest of your accessories.

I think navy goes with almost every color. What color shoes do you have?

I have several pairs of black and red. I have two pairs of brown heels, but they are buried out in the garage- I'm not sure if I can get to them. I have hot pink. I also have a pair of silver, but they are not exactly interview appropriate.

Red will make me look like a flag. I don't typically like navy and black together. I'm tempted to wear a white shirt and rock the hot pink- however, I'm too scared to risk it!

Oooh, I like the idea of hot pink! Are they plain otherwise?

Nude would be nice. So would camel.

ETA: Rethinking the hot pink. I think they would make you stand out. That could be either good or bad. Tough call.

To be on the safe side, I would go with the black - but then again, I'm not great with shoes, I'm pretty simple. I would advise against the hot pink for an interview.

Black, nude, or brown. Navy can be tricky sometimes. Black is probably easiest. What color is the bag that you'll be carrying? If it's black, boom, go with that haha.

While I DO own bright pink pumps, I wouldn't wear them for an interview...though you gave me a new outfit idea with the white skirt.

Nude or navy. Black is ok. Not hot pink and I wouldn't go metallic.

    Are they all pumps?

I just bought a navy suit last Friday giraffe! I'm wearing simple navy dress shoes that were actually my grandmas. If I had more money, I would get nude shoes.

I think anything is fine as long as it's not too bright/wild patterned. I have bought black interview outfits for this reason.

Black and navy together just as white and cream together...it's the visual equivalent of nails on a chalkboard to me. I know it's silly, but I can't help it.

I like navy and red...and there are worse things than the flag you could look like. :)

I was thinking about buying nude, but I'm not sure I'll have time to go shoe shopping before the interview. I am at school (work day), work at retail job tonight and tomorrow, have to pack and clean my whole house (remember- it is for sale!) and leave on Wednesday. Drive to Michigan. Interview on Thursday morning.

But won't your pants cover up most of the shoe? If so, I'd go for the second pair if you'll wear them again. Or is it the toes that concern you? I've worn open-toed shoes to all three of my teaching interviews in my career and have been offered a position with each. Maybe my toes are just adorable, though. :haha:

I wear silver with my navy suit, but it's more like a muted grayish silver. They're very professional looking, but look good with the navy.
I would do something like that or nude.

We just ran to grab lunch. The place is in a parking lot of a shopping center- I ran into Marshalls really quick. There were several SUPER cute options.... 1 size too small! I tried them all on and I hobbled in them because they were too small. There was ONE pair in the right size. Super cute BCBG nude pumps--- it had a very pointy toe and my poor baby toe wouldn't last more than 5 minutes in them. I'm super sad because they were clearanced down to $18! (For BCBG!!!)
    *sigh*
I'll try and fit in more shoe shopping later, I guess.

Yeah, I can say I've never cared what kind or color of shoes a candidate was wearing. :)

I would have voted for the hot pink if they didn't have bows. A dark suit in summer needs something to make it lighter (please, no white though), but it should be professional like pumps or slingbacks. For my last interviews, I wore a gray suit with light blue pumps and then a tan linen suit with raspberry slingbacks for the 2nd interview. I think it shows confidence and the ability to think outside the box.
Of the suggestions already made, I vote for nude pumps. Good luck.

I am a shoe diva, but not to the extent of czacza. This is why I stress! I have navy khaki type pants, but I wear either my Sperrys or brown ballet flats with them. Hmmm.... forgot I have those!! That may be what I wear to the Thursday interview. I'll have time to shoe shop after the interview. I have another on Friday.
Navy and hot pink is my absolute favorite color combo. Getting a job is just too important for me to risk it!

Nope, pants. I will have to try them on with heels and flats to see what works for sure. Problem is, it is at my mom's house in Michigan and I am still in NC........ (Until tomorrow, anyway!)

It honestly doesn't matter, as long as you look neat and professional.

I sat on an interviewing committee once and I recall lots of pretty suits and dresses. I don't remember anyone's shoes, except for the woman we hired. She was wearing a casual batik cotton dress and Birkenstocks. She got the job because she was the best candidate and clearly knew and loved kids and education.

    Don't worry about your shoes!

All I know is dont match it with navy shoes! Contrasts are nice, I like the nude idea, too :) Good luck!
