I am doing an ocean/pirate theme for my second grade class this year. As I mentioned in another post, my behavior chart will have "pirate themed" sections: How Arrrrre You Doing? Buried Treasure Happy Sailing At Sea Turbulent Waters Shipwrecked  I wanted to find mini cut-outs that I can use to put magnets on for the students to be able to move on the chart however, I have been very unlucky finding cut-outs that match this theme. The only thing close that I've found is a bear in a canoe by Trend. Has anyone seen anything that would match this chart? Any ideas other than ships or pirates I can use for their magnets? I will use plain circles as a last resort. Any input will be greatly appreciated! :thanks:
Can you find clip art pics that work and then print them out on cardstock? You'd have to cut them out, but...
I tried looking and nothing seemed to be what I was looking for. I wanted something plain that I could just write a number on.
There are lots of choices here: http://webclipart.about.com/od/msubpiraa/Pirates_and_Pirate_Related_Clip_Art.htm
Just wait until you get the parent who gets angry about implying piracy is appropriate for 2nd graders... I was amazed those people were out there when I did a pirate unit with my 7th graders the first time. But, believe me, they are. People wanted to know why I was glorifying crime. Seriously.
Another cute set of Pirate graphics (called Treasure Trove) for the classroom...http://teachfactory.com/?page_id=31/
That is really sad. First, I wanted to do a jungle/monkey theme but that turned out to be a possible racial problem...now I'm doing oceans with some pirates integrated into it and I'm encouraging the kids to be criminals! LOL We just can't win!
I love these ideas!!! I was wondering if I can use some of it!!! I love the behavior part!!! We use book themes in our school and I am doing the Magic Tree House book! I also found these--- https://www.djinkers.com/product.php?productid=2706
