I just finished up my course work for my first Learner's Edge class, Engaging Students with Pop Culture. I found it to be a good class and definitely learned some stuff I can bring into my classroom. I plan to start another course either this summer or this fall. I am wondering if any of you have taken a class through them and if you would recommend that class or not.

If you haven't taken a course through them and your school accepts online classes for your "plus" credits, I would definitely recommend the one that I took.

I have not taken any of their classes, but I've read their promotional materials. Nothing wrong with them, but I opted to go with PBS TeacherLine instead. I've taken three courses through them and highly recommend them as well. Just wanted to throw that out there in case someone is looking for options.

Thanks, will look at them as well. Which courses did you take with them?

I just finished this one yesterday: http://www.pbs.org/teacherline/catalog/courses/MATH330/

About four years ago, I took these two:
    http://www.pbs.org/teacherline/catalog/courses/RDLA257/

    http://www.pbs.org/teacherline/catalog/courses/RDLA267/

I learned a lot from all of them. They aren’t easy and do actually require a lot of work, but I’ve learned more from these classes than from some face-to-face classes or PD sessions that I’ve participated in.

I have also taken multiple PBS Teacherline courses, and loved them. Reading and language arts, more specific Annenberg learners courses, and ways to use multimedia in teaching. Paid the extra to have them counted as grad credits, so a win all around.
