I am currently working a full time 6 month maternity cover. It is at my daughter's private school and I am loving it. The Principal has mentioned that the position will most likely be extended another 6 months, however it will drop down to part time (3 days a week). If I take it I will most likely be without a job half way throughout next year and obviously earning less than I am now. I have updated my resume and was going to send it to other schools before this was mentioned to me. Am unsure if I should send my resume out now and still look for full time work to start the year (I'm Australian - our new school year starts in Jan) or just be content with the extra (part time) 6 months. It is really ideal working at my daughter's school because it is not near any other schools so I don't have to do any extra commute or look for care for her before/after school (single mum).
