I'll try not to make this so long but here goes. I had an initial interview with a school district the first week of June. It was for an early childhood position (head start, pre-k, or kinder). I thought the interview went well. Last Tuesday I was called back for another interview. Basically this was just 5-10 minutes. He told me there were a few positions that became available and asked me what my preference would be of the three. I chose kinder but also told him that it really didn't matter since I have paraprofessional experience in Head Start. He told me that there was an aide in the school who was nearing her certification and he wanted to know what she wanted to teach. He told me he was going to contact my references and that I was on the top of his list and that he'd call by the end of the week. (Yesterday). Ok, I have been told by a few friends that everything is positive and probably will be hired but then again, I am one of those who will believe it when it happens. This has been a very long road for me. How long should it be before I contact him? or should I just wait and hope he contacts me? Thanks to all and sorry for being so "wordy".
I'd call him Monday afternoon. Wait and see if he calls in the morning, if not, go ahead and call. Maybe he is taking a few days off for the 4th, so things might have come up and that's why he wasn't able to get back to you. Good luck!
The district is closed all this week but I received a phone call about an hour ago from the principal. He asked me if I was still interested in teaching there and offered me the kinder position. He is going to send his recommendation to the school board Monday. I am so excited. For those who get down (like I did at times), be patient. Good things come to those who wait.
