I'm covering for a science teacher who's on maternity leave. I have grades 3, 4, & 5. She left me plans for third and fourth but only an outline for fifth. Next week is all about classifying rocks-sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic. Any websites or lessons to help me teach this would be great. Thank You!

Try googling "United States Geological Survey". You should be able to locate the official website of the USGS. When you get there, click on "Education". The click on "USGS Educational Resources for Primary Grades". That will hopefully get you what you need. As far as I am concerned, the USGS website is the finest educational resource for geology in the world! (And I was a geologist many years ago!)

TeacherGroupie and I had a good thread going on geology a few years ago, yet it's now in the archives. Or it may be in the Debate and Marathon Threads.
