What is your school mascot? Do you wish it was something else?

I'm at a different school ea day of the wk assisting the SLPs, so I don't usually pay attn to that stuff & it mks no difference to me what it is, but when I was a student, the mascots have been:

    Lions
    Eagles
    Titans
    Broncos
Bears (when I was a special ed teacher once)

I just started at a new univ just this wk. I've gotta see what theirs is.

The last school I worked at (in an after school program) had pandas as their mascot. It was adorable - they used to have black and white spirit days. :)

The school I student taught at: patriots

The school I student taught at was the same school I went to so we were the Eagles. I liked that. The schools I've taught at:

    Cubs (2)
    Pirates
    Rattlers

I like the Pirates the best. ;)

My high school was the Eagles.
    Student teaching: Mariners
    Private School: Warriors
New School: Cubs (to coincide with the high school mascot)

There were several Arkansas teams that my high school played. Their mascots still make me cringe...two I specifically remember were the Winslow Squirrels and the Deer Antlers (the town was Deer).

My current school is the Cougars.

Both of my previous schools (in two different districts) were Eagles.

    My mascot history:
Elementary School - The Highlights (lightbulbs)
    Middle School - The Wildcats
    High School - Titans
College classes I took in High School - Cardinals
First 2 years of undegrad - Gorillas
    B.A., B.S.E, M.A. - Jayhawks (of course)

In the school I currently teach, I like our mascot except that for posters and such you can't do footprints (like paw prints) because they would just be hoof marks. (And, no, we are not equine). :)

The elementary I went to was the Forest Hill Chippers (chimpunks). In fifth grade we had an economy system called 'Chipperville'. I LOVED it.

My high school that I went to was the Trojans. Our well respected social studies teacher/running coach was always trying to change it due to the historical connotation of the Trojans. But it's still the Trojans-he passed away so I doubt anyone else will argue it.

The first elementary I worked at was called Challenger and we were the Space Pups. Again, so cute. Our picture was this little puppy in a dome space ship. When my mom was principal, I helped her find a stuffed dog and make the spaceship around him for the office.

Hmm, no one w/ aquatic mascots yet, such as Sharks or Dolphins?

    Highlights & Gorillas are different.

    We're the Wildcats.

We were the Warriors for one year, but deemed too warlike. Duh.

Then we were the Wizards, which I liked, for one year. But the community was definitely against that one. Don't want anything to do with magic, I guess.

So they went traditional with The Wildcats. Fine with me. I don't much care.

We are the Patriots. (I work at the same school I attended.)

Our high school is a little unusual. We're the Engineers. We're a railroad town.

Elementary: Patriots (colors: blue and gold)
Middle: Roadrunners (colors: blue and gold)
High School: Rams (colors: blue and gold)
Undergrad: Bulldogs (red, black and white)
Grad School: Eagles (red and gold)

I just don't want another blue and gold school! I would like to teach in a school with a really quirky, unconventional mascot. That would be fun.

My high school was the Pickles.

My second youngest sister's HS was the Pigeons.

Do those count? I could pass their names along. One is even in NC :D

Elementary schools in my district: Eagles (blue and white), Herrons, Cubs (as in bears), Orcas, and I don't know the last one. I don't know their colors, either.

Middle schools: Cougars and Panthers (both use black and red, though the panthers school also uses yellow)
High school: Wildcats (purple and gold)

I don't remember all of the ones for the elementary schools I actually attended -- I don't remember ever knowing them, or if they had them. I am teaching at the same middle school I went to, and the high school in my district is the one I attended. My college one, the University of Idaho, was represented as the Vandals -- a viking.

    1st School: Raiders
2nd School: Rebels (now called Roughriders due to consolidation)
3rd School: Terriers (Last Terriers in the state)
    Next year: Huskies.

Area schools have: Golden Rockets, Ironmen, Jeeps, Raiders, Blue Devils, Pioneers, Shermans (as in tanks), Panthers, Bearcats, Warriors, Cavaliers.

    Elementary: Bears
    Middle: Sharks
    High school: Mustangs
    College: Cougars/Bearkats (undergrad/grad)
    1st teaching job: PANDAS!!!!!!!
    2nd job: Cougars
    Present job: Vikings

I LOVED working in a school with a panda as a mascot! It was so cute, but the middle school boys weren't really pleased to have a "fighting panda" when it came to football. LOL. It doesn't really... work... To top it off the school name started with a P so they were the PMS Pandas. Lots of jokes, as you can imagine. :)

My High School - Blue Raiders
    My University - Blue Hens
    1st school - Silver Eagles
Current School - Blue Raiders (not the same school as my high school) So I went full circle. At both schools, the Raider is a Revolutionary War Raider, not a pirate type like Oakland.

How many of your school districts have different mascots for elementary schools than the high schools? I graduated from a small school district where every school had the same mascot. Only when I got my first three teaching jobs did I see where each elementary had their own mascots and the middle/high schools had the same mascot.

In Elementary School I was a Bobcat - middle school an Eagle and high school I was a Falcon.

The middle school I currently teach at is the Bobcats and we have so much focused around that. We have a stuffed bobcat named "BoB" which stands for Being our Best. We also have a life sized bobcat costume and teachers on prep period often make Bob appearances throughout the school. It's fun!

We are Panthers. The only thing I don't like is our colors: purple and teal.

    When I was in school:
-Elementary/middle-Webster Warriors (A Native American in a headdress was the mascot-now they are the Webster Waves)
    -High School-Spartans
    -College-Titans

All of them. I've never seen different grade level schools w/ the same mascot either. I used to work at a 4-school district (3 elem, 1 middle) & they each had their own mascot too.

In our district everyone has a different mascot, but in one of the neighboring districts the middle school has the young animal variation of the high school: cubs/bears, colts/mustangs, etc.

    Elementary School: Lions
    Middle School: Patriots
    High School: Mustang
    University: Ramblers/Wolves
    Student Teaching School: Wolves

I wish we could be something a little less common- gators. Maybe even the Bulldogs would be cool since I have a Frenchie!

No idea what my elementary school mascot was. I don't think we had one.

    Middle School - Spartans
High School - Red Devils (despite church lobbying)
    Undergrad - Raiders
Credential - Otters (there ya go, Ms.I)

My current elementary school does not have a mascot.

I went to summer enrichment school at Benson High when I was in elementary school. Fond memories of art class and German class.

Also fond memories of skating on the pond in the community during the winter. :thumb:

The first district I worked in (which was also the district I attended as a student) had different mascots for each campus. In my next district, all schools had the same mascot. My current school is a private Catholic school, and although no one has same mascot, some of the other schools in our diocese have the same name!
