we have had some behavior concerns in a couple grades. So I am rewarding excellent behavior with a Halloween party and movie during my prep. Of course everyone wants the latest R rated horror flick. What might appeal to HS yet be school appropriate? I know they don’t want Charlie Brown type movies.

Ghostbusters, the original with Bill Murray is my preference.

How long is your planing? You may be better off finding an episode of a TV show so you can see the whole thing.

The Tim Burton movies feature timeless pop culture characters, popular with teens.
Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands.
Steven King movies are pretty tame compared to Saw or any of the Jason movies. I would think high schoolers could relate to Christine or Carrie.

Go vintage. Disney's "Watcher in the Woods".

Try the original 1980. I just realized there was a remake.

Maybe a classic like Dawn of the Dead
It's not so much of a horror movie, and it doesn't have jump scares. More like just a movie with a zombie theme. :)
