Is anyone else addicted to the dollar sales? The only thing I bother looking at is the $1 eBooks. I work at a teacher store, and we sell many of those same books at list price, which is $12+. You save SO much money shopping the dollar sales. I love all of the reader's theater books. They also have some really good content-area books (I just bought a lift-the-flap famous american timeline book, which goes PERFECT with one of our units!).

Here is the link, but shop fast, since the sale only lasts through today!

Gee thanks--now I have way too much stuff in my 'cart' and I'm going to have to sift through it to reduce it to a manageable purchase! :)

Oh no, another one?! :) Last time I spent $50 at the dollar sale... But I am a first year teacher so I guess that's a good excuse, right? Building up my resources and all that?

I love getting the ebooks because I hate having hard copies of things - it's so nice to be able to pull something up, print it off, and make copies. Much easier than dealing with tons of hard copies of books.

Thanks..off I go to check it out!! :D

I agree, yellowdaisies! I love having the electronic copies, and just printing off what I need. SO much easier.

I only spent $16 this time, which is nothing! I think the most I spent was $65. Such good deals!

What I meant was, thanks for sharing. BTW, does anyone have any specific recommendations of books that were a hit? My last $1(each) haul was a mixed lot. Some I liked a lot, some I haven't ended up using at all.

Bored...we did one of either pioneers or pilgrims... it was a fun way to do Thanksgiving lessons.

I also like the line math... the solve and color pictures... it's fun to have those up for different holidays or seasons to add some color to the room.

Anyone have experience with the "Scholastic Success with..." series?

I have taken to wantonly adding items of interest to my cart and will sift through them later. This is going to be rough ;)

    That's what I do, too! :)

I purchased the success with handwriting book this time around and it seems pretty useful. I often plug the titles into Amazon and read the reviews, too.

Don't know why, but there aren't a whole lot of teacher-book reviews in general :-/

I have flagged over 50 books in my cart to consider! O_O

I like reviews because in the past I have found a lot of Scholastic reproducible books make claims like "fascinating" and "exciting" and "kids will love" and then the actual kids are bored to tears or the ideas are nothing very novel at all. So while I could use a good reproducible practice activity collection, and given the population I work with I NEED it to be high-interest, I'm a little skeptical.

Anyone else having trouble with their website? :\ A lot of the product pages haven't been working, but right now I can't even log in to get to my cart. This means I've also lost the last few things I put in there, because it's showing up empty.

Oh me too! I was afraid I'd been hacked because suddenly it didn't recognize my password. And the password reset link they sent me didn't work either, just went to the regular login page. Maybe they'll extend the sale due to the glitch! I was in middle of narrowing down from 70 items, I'm sure I wouldn't actually USE that much stuff but it all LOOKED good... I'm such a sucker for books :p

That has happened to me many times before...So frustrating, especially when you take all of that time to go through the books. :(

My cart was still full after the login issue suddenly resolved itself. It was only down for a little while. Less than an hour for sure.

I still have too many things in my cart, many/most of them have no reviews on Amazon, and my browser is being strangely slow today so looking at the previews is taking more time than I had. I decided to favor specific books over general (e.g. I doubt I would use "math stuff" as efficiently as "fraction games") though it's still hard :p

I did call... the lady said to make small orders and to keep track of your titles so they can help you.

They said if you are still having issues they close at 7pm CST time and will not be there tomorrow...so you may want to get your order in before tonite if you are having trouble!!!

Gah! And I have so much else to do today! I whittled down my cart to 38 titles. I want some fraction/decimal type activities but there are at least 4 different options for that, and I want a variety of interesting reading comprehension practice passages (I rarely care for their activities, but I always need more short passages) but there are a lot of those! Eeny, meeny, miny...

I ended up buying 20 ebooks. It's my own type of retail therapy. I'm excited to choose some things from the more game-y books to print out to lighten up the next couple of weeks, which are going to be overshadowed by state testing.
