There's a post about this on the high school forum, but I haven't seen one here yet.
Do you all know your schedules and class loads yet? I have:

    1st per.: English 8, 20 students
2nd per.: Reading Improvement 8, 9 students (a remedial class for those who failed the 7th grade state assessment)
    3rd per.: English 8, 23 students
    4th per.: English 6, 22 students
    5th per.: conference
    6th per.: English 8, 29 students
    Advisory (20 minutes) 22 8th graders
    7th per.: English 6, 30 students

We don't start until the 27th, so I'm sure the class counts will change. I was just given the reading improvement class today, and just found out about the 6th grade classes yesterday.

    3rd Science
    4th Science
    5th (20 min.) Spelling/Grammar
    6th Lunch

9th - Exploration - wasted period. i usually have them do their independent reading and any other catch-up work here.

    1st period: Athletics (150 students 5 coaches)
2nd period: Academic Texas History (normal pop students but not motivated) (25 students)
3rd period: Inclusion Texas History (co-taught w/ aide) (21 students)
    4th period: lunch/conference 1:30 whoop!
    5th period: Pre-AP Texas History (23 students)
6th period: Inclusion Texas History (21 students)
    7th period: Athletics (130 students 5 coaches)

I am worried about the inclusion classes and my Pre-AP class has the daughter of a parent who almost sued the school last year because of something their older son did.

How in the world do you assess 160+ writing assignments. That is terrible! :(

Yeah...it can be tough, and time consuming, and my classes are "small" right now. After labor day I will proably have 36-38 in every class. Usually all of my work is credit or no credit except for essay writing, and tests. I "trade and Grade" as much as possible and have packets of weekly work. When it is time to grade essays it usually takes me 2 weeks to get all of them graded while still doing the rest of my grading.
