Ok... I have been working with this for a while now and can't seem to make it work yet. I would welcome ANY and ALL suggestions.

Students start rolling in at 8:30 but are not late until 8:45. Many then get breakfast and aren't done until 9.

    9:00 - 9:120 Morning Meeting
9:25 - 10:30 Reading Groups and centers (can't move this, all of first grade is involved)
    10:35 - 10:55 recess
    11 - 11:30
    11:30 - 12 lunch
    12 - 1:20
1:25 - 2:05 specials (all days but Friday)
    2:10 - 2:20 snack
    2:20 - 2:50

    dismissal starts at 3.

    I need to put in:
    writing (we use Lucy Calkins)
Math (EveryDay Math at least 45 min. needed and that's crunching!)
    read aloud
Science (new program, don't know how much time or how many days... it's hands on inquiry stuff)
Health (just one day a week)
Houghton Mifflin whole group reading stuff
and because my school uses responsive classroom, we're supposed to have at least 10 min. of quiet time
and our theme stuff... social studies and weather learning result stuff that isn't covered by our science program.

 WHEN is this stuff going to fit in????:help:

Health obviously fits in on Fridays because it is once a week and you have an opening there.

    9:00 - 9:20 Morning Meeting
    9:25 - 10:30 Reading Groups and centers
    10:35 - 10:55 recess
    11 - 11:30 Lucy Calkins
    11:30 - 12 lunch
    12 - 12:50 Math
    12:50 - 1:20 HM whole group reading
1:25 - 2:05 specials (all days but Friday - Fridays Health)
2:10 - 2:20 snack/quiet time (play soft music, and call it quiet time)
2:20 - 2:50 Alternate theme stuff and science either by days or weeks, we alternate science and social studies themes as the main weekly theme and try to incorporate some ideas from the other subject where we can.

I was thinking the same thing! Do health on Friday when you don't have specials.
