i was scheduled for an hour interview yesterday for a high school position which ended up being a 2:15 minute interview.

anyway, the principal went into great detail about how much the school paid for health, dental and life insurance as well as the salary i would receive.

then she said she would be in contact "soon"

is talking this much n depth about salary a good sign or just normal to make sure the applicant would accept the position if offered it

    thanks!

It could be a good thing...I think it all depends on the district and principal though.

but my main question is this ......is this a really good sign that THEY brought up salary and went into GREAT detail about benefits in the interview?

i always thought this was discussed only if they were seriously considering hiring the applicant

I know some interviewers discuss this with everyone they interview. It's not a bad sign, but it doesn't necessarily mean you did or didn't get the job.

Agreed....this doesn't mean a whole lot one way or the other...I wouldn't read too much into this...it could easily be just a formality.

It'll be different everywhere, but I'll tell you that my P did the same thing, and he hired me two days later.

Now that is a good sign, at least in my experience.

    Sounds good to me.

I've been in a final interview with one other candidate and the supt. told me the salary and benefits. They also checked my references but I didn't get the job.

When I did finally get a job, I found out they had contacted one of my references and then I met with the supt. and was told salary shortly before being offered the job.

Sounds like you're on the right track!
