I can't afford a "teacher rug." But my carpet is all stained. I'm going to hit Walmart etc. to find some rugs for the classroom. I'd like a nice one though for a reading area. What size will fit 17-19 students? :thanks:

I was looking at rugs the other day I am pretty sure I saw them cheaper either at Lowes or Home Depot. But that might just be my area.
I was wondering the same thing about size well except I wanted to fit 20 kinderkids not second graders lol.

Check out Overstock.com. I just bought 2 5x7 rugs. They were $49 each and the shipping is only $2.95. They had some educational rugs on there, too. I'm hoping that if I put the two rugs together that they will accomodate my students.

I did the same thing. I bought 2 5x7 rugs from walmart for $12 each. I will have 18 students and I am pretty sure they will all fit.

You got a much better deal than me:( I couldn't find anything colorful at our Walmart (I guess we New Englanders are dull).

Well, I didn't find anything great at my walmart either. I actually got mine online. It is called the "GEEometric Rainbow Rug". They were having a sale when I bought it.

I am not sure of the sizes but Big Lots, Walmart and Home Depot have inexpensive rugs around this time of year.

Sophie, where are you located? Ikea has wonderful rugs starting at 9.99. The big area rugs are 29.99 and they are very colorful. They also have kiddie rugs for 7.99 (frogs or ducks)

This makes me sad...we are not allowed to have rugs (fire hazard).

I got a LARGE watermelon colored rug today at Burlington Coat Factory for $15.99...they had blue and orange. I am actually debating on going back and picking up one of the other colors as well. I haven't put anything in my classroom yet and I am tomorrow so I am going to wait and see if I have the space. :)
