Today I sent out 30 some emails to principals in NC, with my resume (the new one, thanks alL!) attached.

I went out to get hte mail and while later looked at my answering machine. I had a message from Robeson County schools, they have 15 opening and would like to know if i want to come for an interview. Im gonna call tomorrow on my lunch and see what i can learn.

I believe Robeson County is very rural. I'm not saying it's bad and they offer a great sign on bonus. I remember talking to representatives from the county when I went to a job fair for NC schools. I taught in Charlotte for a year before I moved to OK for a job with my husband. Good Luck!

Robeson County is in the southeastern part of the state. Close to South Carolina and the Myrtle Beach area. It is very rural (think cotton fields) and a low socioeconomic area. Many Native Americans (Lumbee) live in the area. If I'n not mistaken, Interstate 95 runs right through it.

I grew up in NC and went to college one county over from Robeson. We've lived in several areas of the state and I did my student teaching in Charlotte.

    I'm in Ohio now!

Good luck and let us know what happens! I had family living in southeast North Carolina (I think Richlands area) and a lot of the counties looked the same, but I do know that they also had a lot of new schools built with great technology!

Well, I am back. Went to four schools down there, drug tested, ended up in Urgent Care cause I was sick sick sick, but I must have impressed them for all that cause Friday night I called the HR guy and he told me two schools would be recommedning me. He said he'd call me again on Monday, but not to worry, its a done deal.

Thanks. I feel as if I should be more excited. I don't know if I am in shock, if its because I am sick, or if the reality of moving away is hitting me.

Shock, trust me you are in shock, moving on a moments notice will do that to you. Are you hiring a moving company or doing it yourself? As a former military wife I am great at moving, so if you need suggestions as to what to do next, just ask! I am just glad someone got a job! There is hope for the rest of us!

we are going to do it ourselves, and probably I will either get rid of or place in storage most of my things. I need new couches anyway, my wardrobe needs paring, and there is plenty of things i dont really NEED to take with me. Pretty much, whatever will fit in my car and moms minivan.
