Well, to get my foot in the door, I will be subbing in 2 local school districts this year. I'm excited about it, even though I will not have my very own classroom just yet.

I was wondering what you can take as a reward when you sub? I plan on playing games that go along with the lesson/curriculum and would just like to have a little something for the winners.

I attended the orientation session yesterday, and we were told that under no circumstances are we to be bring candy or food into the classroom (due to the child obesity issue). Candy is a huge reinforcer, so now I'm stumpped as to what I could possibly bring besides stickers. Plus, I have signed up for all grade levels, so I'm sure stickers wouldn't be that great of a reward for junior high and high school students.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!!!

Thanks so much Julie & ABall!

I have used Oriental Trading for office parties and other events, you are right, they have great (and most importantly, inexpensive) things on their site.

I really like the awards/certificates idea.
