This year I am going to do a ticket reward system for good behavior, awesome work, great attitude, etc. I want the kids to have opportunities to earn things, however I don't have tons of money. I have a "bin" of prizes already. What I was thinking was:

2 tickets= trip to the bin
5 tickets= teacher chair (they get my chair to sit in all day)
    7 tickets= lunch w/ me

Any other ideas? Cheap type ones? :)

Here are some of the prizes I use for my tickets:

pick 2 friends and eat lunch with me
    popsicle
    teacher assistant for the day
give the Spelling test and receive a free 100
pick the stick (I use popsicle sticks for picking students to call on)
homework pass (only have to do half of the homework)

I am also using a ticket system in my classroom. I will give out tickets for good behavior, manners, and such too. I got double roll tickets so that the student has one ticket and the other ticket goes into a jar. Every month I will draw a name from the jar and that student will be awarded a prize. Some of my prizes include prize baskets of various items, homework and teacher's chair passes, special lunch with the teacher and 3 friends etc. I am hoping that doing a drawing only once a month will save me some money; however, I plan to make the prize(s) worthwhile for my students. If I need to, depending on my students, I could always do a drawing sooner, like every 2 weeks or so.

hrm, a drawing, not such a bad idea. I might go w/ that and then draw like 20 a grading period and they can pick: the bin, teacher chair or lunch w/ me.

I like it and it's EASY!

In my old school we used a system like this, and the kids felt it was really unfair to have a drawing. They felt like they earned it too, but didn't get a prize. I ended up changing it so that everyone who earned it got a prize. It made more sense.
