    Hey Gang!

Does anyone know of a website that will show which restaurants are open on Christmas Eve?

My husband and I were supposed to attend the family reunion Christmas at Disney World, but our OB has insisted that we stay at home incase any more pregnancy issues spark up. We were really bummed at first, but we're making the best of it, etc. Besides, this will be our last quiet Christmas for a LONG time with our son being born in February!

I did a lot of google searches and found the hours to Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts on Christmas Eve... but we wanted to go somewhere semi-nice... mainly because I bought a beautiful maternity holiday glittery dress which I want to wear! :) We plan to go around 7 PM after Mass... Anyone know of a site that might list places open?

    Thanks! :)

Depending on how much you want to spend, I would suggest phoning restaurants in hotels and casinos.

I did a quick google search of Restaurants open on Christmas eve and my area and found many! My family has done the Olive Garden on Christmas Eve before when we had a problem with dinner at my aunt's house.

Starista, I don't know of a site to look them all up, you'll probably have to call around to all the places you're thinking of going to.

Hey! I LOVE Chinese food & it's my first choice of what to eat on many occasions! :D I called my favorite Chinese restaurant to see if they'll be open on Christmas Day because we're getting food there.

Try checking if you have any local food bloggers in your area. They're the ones most in the know about these kinds of things.

Maybe it depends on area, but we've never had a problem finding an open restaurant on Christmas eve, and we do celebrate Christmas. I think a lot of people go out to eat on Christmas eve -- it's much easier and nice, especially with other last-minute preparations one might need to do.

They might close earlier than usual but I'm sure most restaurants will be open. If I were you I would pick a few that you like and give them a call to see what their holiday hours are.

I have worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years.

Just about EVERY national/corporate restaurant chain is open on Christmas Eve.

I work at a Ruth's Chris and we are open until 8.

In fact, this is the first year we are open for Christmas Day as well.

    Happy Holidays.

I work at Outback, and my restaurant is open until 9:00. You could also post in your city's citydata.com for a list.

My birthday is Christmas Eve, and our family tradition is to go out to eat for birthdays. I ate a LOT of Chinese food growing up . Another option is a Jewish run restaurant. You're in South Florida, so if you check out your local cityguide or something similar, you might find a nice Kosher place that's open.

Total hijack here, but I ate at Ruth Chris for the first time a few weeks ago, and I believe I might have died and gone to heaven for just a little bit. I had a filet mignon with a blue cheese crust, and it was superb! I am, however, very glad that it was on someone else's expense account.

When I was 14 I discovered a couple of Jewish-owned cafes. By then, I was so sick of Chinese for my birthday, I made my parents drive all the way to North Miami Beach for many years after that discovery.

Christmas Eve is also my DH's birthday, so we have done lots of Chinese. He also loves Buffalo Wild Wings but for some reason around us they close at 5:00 (and the girls was very rude when she told me that today). This year I think we are going to Outback, so I happy to hear they are likely to be open after 5:00.

I still remember driving around on Christmas night with my youth group friends, hoping beyond hope that once it hit midnight and was officially December 26th that the 24 hour diners would open. No such luck. Thankfully, Columbus is a secret foodie haven, so some of the best steakhouses and comfort food eateries will be serving.
