    PLEASE... Response to Intervention Math

Our school is struggling with math interventions to implement before referring students for testing. Does your school have a plan or a curriculum that you are using?

For reading we are using the three tiers, 1 is guided reading at individual reading levels in a small group and literacy centers. 2 is intense one on one Reading recovery in first grade or small literacy groups with Reading specialist.Tier 3 is referral for special education.

We are using Everyday Mathematics as our curriculum.

    Anyone??

We use Fastt Math for our bottom (everyone) tier. It's a purchased program that focuses on math facts/drill. We have seen some good improvement in our scores with it. That's all I know that we are doing as a building. I do math tutoring for my middle level kids but I'm the only teacher that tutors math and I typically have enough kids in my classroom that need it that I can't offer it to anyone else.

We don't have a set curriculum - it is just up to our teachers to provide interventions such as 1-1 teaching, tutoring, etc. We must meet as a grade level and they must offer interventions. Tier 2 is to talk with a specialist and then do the interventions they suggest for a number of week.

Math is a lot more difficult to find interventions for than reading and writing. We have the grade level meetings but we do not get may "useful" interventions.
