I just found this today and thought I would mention it here. The TEA website has a statewide jobsearch feature that allows you to put in how many miles from home you want to work. It then brings up charter schools and Independent School Districts within that radius. There is a link to the district website, and also a link to the jobs for the district.

    This is the link: http://www.tea.state.tx.us/districtSearch.aspx

Just thought I would share. I have 10 days left of my Clinical Teaching (Student Teaching) assignment. I just had my last observation and the observer is recommending me for certification, so I will start updating applications and resumes soon. I am looking within 30 miles of southern Ellis County in 4-8 generalist and History 8-12 if anyone should know of something. My assignment is 6 grade regular and Honors math, totally out of my comfort zone. But I have really enjoyed it. It proved to me that I could handle teaching math which is my worst subject.

    Good luck out there.

    Suze
