Yesterday when I dropped off my transcripts at the district office (I'm getting $1500 added to my salary, yeay) I chatted with the credential analyst and asked her does the notification work. Is it March 15 or May 30? Today when I went to work, my P asked me to her office and her boss was there (a very nice, kind gentleman). They told me to close the door. She knows how I think so the first thing she said was "you're not in trouble" Apparently the credential analyst told my P's boss that I was somewhat stressed out about this (which is true) and he wanted to put my mind at ease. He also thought that it would make me feel better if not only my P, but also he was there. They said "We are not releasing you! We want teachers who are hard working, willing to learn, take constructive criticism well, and are here for the right reasons, and you fit that criteria and you have a great connection with the kids". My P said that she knows there is a learning curve, in alt. ed even more than at other schools. They made sure I wasn't worried and that I feel appreciated. Wow. That was great. They also said that they don't even like to surprise people, so if someone was non-renewed, they would tell them sooner than later so they can get their resumes out. I love my P, my school and the district. Just wanted to share that. Before this, I always heard horror stories and the dreaded March 15 at other schools.
