So far on my four days of summer vacation, I've had the flu and then started making a classroom cookbook (thanks teacher12345). Some of you may be teaching ESY, some of you may teach at a year-round school, and some of you may be going to Cancun. So I thought it would be fun to take a poll to see what special ed teachers are doing this summer. :)

I was half way between two choices. A lot of planning (I always do) an the rest relaxing. Not much traveling this year. But my summer doesn't start until the 25th.

I get the keys to my new house on June 30th (my last day of school).:celebrate: The movers will be coming on July 4th and my nephew will be visiting me for about 2 weeks beginning on July 8th. I only have 6 weeks of summer vacation because my school has a modified school calendar. I will probably start thinking about school on August 2nd, as my first day back is on August 12th.

I am not doing summer school! The day after the last day of school I'm taking off to Russia for 3 weeks. When I come back, I'll probably start planning. I need to plan a lot of things for the next school year. Our school year starts late: September 13th.

I'm working two summer camps, traveling a little, and then planning and relaxing.

I am working my summer job at the family business, tutoring, and then also doing a little bit of traveling. :) During all of this I'm also planning, buying stuff on line, etc. hehe.

I'm relaxing- or at least not doing school stuff. I have a precious baby girl and I'm spending all the time I can with her. School planning will wait.

I'm going to see my sister in the Dominican Republic for two weeks and the rest of my family that is spread throughout the midwest. Also, knocking off some classes towards my master's, and doing planning - but at a far more relaxed and fun pace.

I'm teaching summer school until the end of June, have a couple of tech sessions to attend, and a 3 day workshop. I'll be relaxing inbetween all that.

    A bit of both.

Work: I know I'll get a week of summer school. (I don't know yet which course or which week, but I always get a week.) That's one full week, 4 hours per day. The money is great!

I'm teaching an SAT prep class for an hour and a half session, once a week.

And I have a freelance job writing math content. So far I've received one check and another was cut last night. It could be really lucrative, and I can do it while I'm outside watching the kids in the pool.

PLAY: We have a pool in our yard. The beach is 20 minutes away. Peter and I both have the summer off. I'm planning on some swimming, some sun, and lots of hotdogs on the grill.

We're also going upstate to Lake George for a week at the end of July.

Not much of anything here. I'll be relaxing as much as I can. We will be remodeling the master bedroom this summer so I'll be crammed in one bedroom with all my kids while the work is being done. I'm excited to plan it though. I'm thinking of some things for school. I'm trying to figure out room arrangement b/c I'll have a student in a wheelchair so things need to be accessible. No traveling here. Can't afford vacations. We will go to an amusement park in a few weeks, and maybe some day trips in the state. Other than that, it is business as usual. Lots of cleaning and organizing at home, 4H stuff, and hanging out.
