Just in time for the summer, I got this Olympus FE-5010 digital camera w/ 12 megapixels, 5x Zoom, SmileShot, Face Detection, & Image Stabilizer. But I bought it through QVC for $20 less. (I didn't want to pay over $200.) I hope it's a good one! http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1441
Just bought furniture for my den, sofa, loveseat, and chair. It was delivered Wednesday and I love it.
I just bought Ben Franklin's Autobiography and another biography about Ben Franklin. Both are recommended reading before attending the workshop next month. I also bought a Scholastic book about teaching word study in the intermediate grades!
Runs with scissors, are you doing a Franklin workshop? I am kind of obsessed with him. What's that all about?
We are going out a town for a convention this weekend. So I took the girls shopping yesterday and we found a skirt set for dd3, a dress with cute overlay for dd2 and some cute shoes for all three of us. We also went grocery shopping since my cupboards were bare. I bought $135.00 worth of things, but I don't know what I bought for that much.
I bought some books about Ben Franklin (his Autobiography and another bio) as prereading for the workshop I'm going to in a couple weeks. I imagine my next major purchase will be either new shoes for walking, some sort of foot supports (those are a must sometime soon), or my plane ticket for Texas.
I booked a band, photographer, dress and a reception hall and they all needed a deposit. I am going to try and not go shopping for anything but the necessities now.
Bought a really good salad, cat food, ... .... refinancing on Tuesday, that's kind of like a "Re"-Purchase?
I'm trying to buy just the basics and stop purchasing the needless junk. I tend to spend more during the summer pay periods than during the school year periods of equal length. Does anyone else find this to be true?
Sure because when a person's off from work, they tend to drive to places they normally wouldn't have time to do, so they tend to spend more. I know I do, but I'm trying to use cash a LOT more often than my card!
I bought my dog a new toy. It's a stuffed purple raccoon  he loves it. I also made peanut butter dog bones for him and after I give him a treat he brings Raccoon to me so I can give him one too LOL
I want to buy my dog a new toy too, but nothing's durable enough. He'll rip it up so fast. I've bought a lot of toys in the past. Surprisingly, Petsmart has refunded me for quite a few toys that my Yoshi has ripped up. I've tried other toys from other stores too. He loses intrest if he can't rip them up!
I saw a dog toy once that is made of super durable rubber. It is shaped a bit like and ice cream cone, and the inside is hollow. There is an opening at each end. The idea is to put peanut butter or something inside just at the reach of the dog's tongue. Then the dog will spend time trying to figure out how to get the treat. It's supposed to keep the dog busy and make them think/problem solve.
My dog tends to like the fabric toys as opposed to the rubber/plastic ones. Many of those rubber ones have a strange scent that my dog doesn't like. But then the really, really durable fabric ones, such as that brand Tuffy's is so incredibly stiff that my dog doesn't bother w/ that either because it won't move around when he shakes it in his mouth. If anyone knows of a good, very durable FLEXIBLE (not stiff) fabric dog toy, let me know! (NO Tuffy's & I've already tried the Fat Cat Inc. toys).
I went on a bit of a spree this week. My mom was in town, and she was a tremendous help with Sprout. We bought an inventory barcode scanner and inventory software, a new laptop to use it on, a lightbox/lights/tripod to improve my pictures and the collectorz.com book catalogueing software. I'm hoping to inter-connect all of these purchases this week and streamline the inventory process so I can get new items up faster. I also bought a Bumpit kit from Walgreens, but it was a total bust and I'm returning it tomorrow. Oh, and my front tires are literally ready to explode (apparently the THREAD is showing because they were put on wrong during the last rotation), so I'll be buying new tires tomorrow.
- Hair styling products - Dog toy - Computer mouse & printer ink - Eaxm registration fee for the MAT & maybe the GRE
I take it easy on the checkbook in the summer. I did get some generous gift cards from students though, so that's 'free money'...One gift card to a fabulous shop in the next town- the mom wrote me a note that she asked her son what I like and he said 'Bruce Springsteen and shoes!' Mom figured I could get shoes at the shop (I already have Bruce tix for end of September!!) Got a great pair of Jeffrey Campbell gladiator sandals and a pair of funky earrings.
My dog also hates the rubber toys Ms. I. I think its the smell. She is so scared of them so we have one that we put near furniture where she chews. She now won't go near the furniture As for what I bought this weekend.. -I went crazy at Ann Taylor Loft and bought two dresses and two shirts. But I got the teacher discount and I had a gift card so it wasn't too bad. -Dog grooming brush. I swear I could make another pug with the amount of fur that comes off of her.
sue35, did you get my PM about the question you had about crate covers a while back? Also, I posted the same reply to you in the FUN PHOTO THREAD on page 3.
Ms. I, that is so funny you mentioned it. I just go it today and am totally going to try and make something like what you linked to. My email account has been locked for some reason (talking to google about it is actually impossible!) so I made a new one and forgot to put it here. I only know if I get PMs from email because I never look where I am supposed to here. Thank you so much!!
sue35, you're welcome! When you put your crate cover together, try to post a picture in the FUN PHOTO thread!
I just came from Publix (a grocery store)....with some really good coupons and advertised specials, I spent $25 dollars and saved $36. So, yes folks, I got $61 worth of groceries for $25.
I went grocery shopping today. I go to WW and we are to try a veggie we have never had before. I cooked Swiss Chard tonight. Never again, it tasted like a cross between spinach and grass.

I can't remember the last time I was in a store. (THen again, I haven't been able to drive for a few days.) I would LOVE to hit the mall with $100 to spend Not gonna happen, but it would be fun!
OK, wait, I did have a $50 Kohl's gift card...Went and got a sexy black top (wore out to dinner last night) and a long cottony black and white dress that I'll wear in a few weeks to in-laws' 50th anniversary party...I threw in one of their $5 books and only spent $3 of my own money...now that's the kind of shopping I like
