Valentines gifts for DH: a fondue pot, Teavana teas, some socks While I was out shopping I also bought myself a great dress is been eyeing. And it was on sale!
We got a "new to us" car last weekend! It is a 2004 but it was well maintained so it looks newer. Just an extra family car to use in case my car or my husband's is ever in the shop.
Last week I ordered some snacks from a nutrition company online. I splurged to get a sample box (they gave me 50% off!) and it was awesome! I never buy food online but I treated myself and the snacks were yummy!!
Some books: - The Power of Broke by Daymond John - The School Speech Language Pathologist - Instagram Power - The Science of Getting Rich - Rich Bitch - The Stranger novel Now that I'm done w/ college for the last time, I have more time for fun reading!
I had to buy a new dress to wear to my cousin's wedding. I got a short one so I don't have to have it hemmed (everything is always too long on me!!!). Then I have to put some $$ aside for the gift envelope. Geesh, this event is costing me a fortune!
My car has over 210,000 miles on It so we went out to start looking around. I drove four or five I didn't like at all, but made one last stop and drove a Subaru Forester and fell in love. Bought my first ever brand new car!
I never had shoes like this, but I wanted something different, so I got these today: Cute sneakers, I hope they're as comfy as they portray: https://www.hsn.com/products/steven-natural-comfort-nitro-embroidered-velvet-sneaker/8459784 Michael Kors sunglasses (silver mirrored lens): https://www.michaelkors.com/ina-cat-eye-sunglasses/_/R-US_MK-1020?color=0040
On Friday Mrs blazer and I went out a purchased a 2 week Caribbean cruise for January! This will celebrate Mrs B's 60th birthday
On Thursday I had to return my car as the lease had come to an end. Whilst in the showroom we had a look at a very nice Kia Niro hybrid SUV. 2 hours later and we were signing on the dotted line to swap Mrs B's car for the Rio. Should be delivered at the end of the month.
DH and I both had to buy new clothes for school. Both of us had gained weight last year, but we didn't actually outgrow clothes until this summer. What can I say . . . we enjoy cooking and eating.
I didn't buy too many new school clothes but I probably will go shopping mid-fall. I did order a pair of navy Sketchers and got a new comfy pair of Asics sneakers!! I got some cash from my classroom budget and got the kiddos some new activities from Target and Toys R Us.
Not exactly a purchase, but we had 5 dead ash trees taken down yesterday. Sad to see them go, but 70 foot tall dead trees aren't exactly safe to have around. Luckily, we have about 100 more trees in the yard!
Paint! After 13 samples I finally picked the "right" shade of grey for my kitchen, laundry, and bathroom cabinets.
It is an automatic, the first I have ever owned. 24 hours in and it does feel a bit strange not using my left foot. Plus I keep dropping my hand down to the gear lever (shift). Tomorrow I have to instruct mrs blazer in it. She has never driven an automatic in over 40 years of driving! It might end in divorce, or worse a dent in the car!
Picked up my new glasses yesterday. Stronger prescription for distance and close vision, but the good news is that the "sweet spots" are about the same as my current glasses. It usually takes me several weeks to work up the nerve to wear new glasses because I have a difficult time adjusting.
I got 11 nice, cozy sweaters from Express, Free People, & Nordstrom! Also a couple pairs of shoes. Can't wait to wear them!
Picked up a copy of John Green's new book Turtles All The Way Down. I might even have time to read it this month.
We got new phones. DSS dropped his phone and shattered the screen while we were on vacation in July. He got in line at 4:30am to get the iPhone X. The next day DH and I went to the store so I could put my hands on a couple of different models. I decided on the Samsung Note 8. It's amazing. I had been using the Note 4, which I also loved. DH upgraded from the iPhone 6 to the 8. He likes it, too, but not as much difference between the new and old for him. We each sold our old phones.
