Oh...and at the Garden shop: 30 potted flowering plants for district retirement party...I'll be reimbursed...does that count? A big pot of basil Snapdragons
MrsC, official move-in is 6/3, but I'll probably get the key tomorrow since I'm bringing my move-in cashier's check.
I had graduation setup, then I had to do the middle school concert tonight. So I get a Wendy's Berry Almond Chicken Salad. It's blueberies, strawberries, slivers of cheese, almonds, chicken and greens. It was huge and delicious. Beyond that, I haven't had the chance to buy anything but gas for the car in about a week and a half. If I don't get to the supermarket soon there's going to be a mutiny.
My mom bought me some clothes yesterday. I had to spend 188.00 on a vet visit for my pug. Some days, I think that I can not afford this fella.
Oh...one more important purchase....I will finally have paid off my car tomorrow. I am dropping the last check off at the bank. It has only taken me 6 years but it is paid off!
That sounds delicious! It makes me really want Wendy's. Oddly enough, even though I live in Chicago there really isn't a Wendy's that close to me. Might be worth a trip one day!
Ms.I, I love your new furniture and rug. I have a new red couch and love it Have a great time setting up your new place and enjoy every minute! I recently bought a new house and loved buying new furniture. I'm still on the lookout for some decorative items for my lounge room and a couple of prints for the wall - am waiting until I find the perfect things. I haven't bought much else recently, just some new winter clothes and shoes.
Have fun, Ms I! You have been waiting for this for awhile. I desperately need some new summer clothes; even my old t-shirts for working in the yard are too worn out.
Great items, Ms.I!! The only thing I've had to buy recently was a new carafe for my coffee maker. Somehow it fell off the kitchen counter and broke! I still don't know how that happened. I guess it was too close to the edge of the counter or something. My hubby found a replacement online and we got it in 3 days. We've had the coffee maker (it's also a cappucino/espresso maker) for almost 10 years and it was really expensive so I didn't want to get rid of it just because the carafe broke.
Thanks ally06, Missy, & TeacherNY! And congrats ally06 on your new home! I'm seeing my actual unit for the 1st time this morning. I'm going over it w/ a fine-tooth comb. 1st-yr-teacher, yes, it is a great feeling to get that bill out of the way!
Ran errands for 4 hours this morning... Home Depot- flower pots, potting soil, landscape lights...the lights are like fairy balls on a stake and are solar powered. They change colors at night Harmon-mascara Sparkly Airwalk sneakers...they look like Chuck Taylors. We have field day on Monday for students followed by a faculty kickball game. I might as well have cute sparkly sneakers because I suck at any game involving a ball and running. Dh got a lot of home project stuff...
Hubby bought sugar this morning so I can bake vegan sugar cookies. I think this was my best and tastiest batch ever. Other than that, most of my money has been going to pay for my physical therapy. Joy. Also, my card number seemed to have been stolen. My account is closed right now pending an investigation. Poo.
Just bought hostas for $4.00 each at Home Depot. I need a massive amount of shade-loving plants to landscape around the gazebo.
I think my most recent purchases were costumes for our spring concert. I also started picking up items for a friend's birthday present. Oh! And Broadway tickets!!
We are thinking of getting some hostas for our front flower beds (it is a shady area). I saw some in a garden catalogue but I didn't know they had them at home depot!
A lot of places carry plants and flowers for just a short time in May and June. I never would have thought to go to Home Depot, but I heard their ad on the radio. Of course once I got there they had no idea what I was talking about and we had to get the manager to verify that price was correct! I bought 12 and still need more!
Thanks Ms.I! I hope you are loving your new place I bought a few different things for my house this weekend, including some new shelving and bathroom accessories. Also lots of boring food shopping, it had been awhile since I had done a proper shop so I was running very low!
ally06, oh I'm definitely loving it. For my very first apt, it's really, really nice. My boyfriend said that it doesn't feel like an apt, but a little home. I must have spent over a few thousand in the last couple of weeks. I haven't added up all my receipts yet.
Lots of fun at Ikea today, getting things for Lauren's dorm room: - white and black zebra print duvet and pillow covers - matching throw pillow - down duvet - blanket - 2 hot pink throw pillows - desk lamp - laundry bag/hamper - grey towels - hanging organizer for the closet - cutlery set - decorative mirror Still lots to get, but it's a good start ($265 later...) -
WoW! When I went to college (LOOOOOONG time ago), I just brought some sheets, toiletries, and my clothes. Of course, I didn't have any money...I remember one semester I had .65 to last me for the semester. That was supposed to pay for the meal plan and books. I spent lots of time in the library and visiting friends at meal time that year!
 When my son went, I bought him new sheets, a comforter and a laundry hamper. This time, it's a little different!
I've gotten some things to decorate the house with: a couple of pillows for the couch, some picture frames, curtain rods, and a vase with some foliage in it for the bathroom.
Tazo Passion Iced Tea Pitcher bags--on sale for $3, so I bought the 6 boxes they had on the shelf. Each box makes 6 pitchers, for the price of one cup at Starbucks!
I got some stuff for Disney: a dozen bandannas and some glow bracelets from Oriental Trading. Next week I'm taking mom to Philly for her Mother's Day outing. Today I purchased tickets for the art exhibit.http://www.michenermuseum.org/exhibits/uffizi.php
BTW, Alice--I have to thank you for turning me on to the Teva flip-flops. I bought a pair for Disney this spring, and had to buy another pair recently so I had black and brown! They are wonderful...
Aren't they great??? Julia and Kira's arrived today from Amazon. I'm wearing my green ones right now.
I had something similar from Payless years ago (I think they were Airwalks, maybe, and they were actually men's ones). I wore them my summer in Spain, and they stood up to walking everywhere for 6 weeks. They didn't have anything like them the following year, and I'd been searching for a squishy-sole flip-flop with arch support ever since!
I made a good find yesterday. I've been looking for a firm pillow to put behind my back when I sit on the sofa. I looked on the clearance shelves and found a $130 Tempurpedic pillow for $59 since it was out of the box. I had a 20% off coupon that I'd printed off their website. Thought that was a good deal!
My friend who lives at the beach all summer swears by her Rainbows... http://islandsurf.com/islandsurf/pa...40?af_id=105&gclid=CNbSw939_rACFYio4Aod33bWmg
Today I bought a copy of the DVD "Cool Runnings". It has been on my sister's birthday list for years, but has been impossible to find.
