It feels weird to say, but we bought a washer/dryer last night. The place we rented doesn't have one, so it's been the laundry mat since November. Not terrible, but not convenient (it's about 20 minuts away). My in-laws gave us money for Christmas to get a set, and so dh went online to Sears last night and just bought a set. Totally impulsive-I don't even know what they look like. But they were a good price, had good reviews, and will hopefully get our clothes clean! ;) We'll get them delivered on Feb. 14th!

A 2009 Pontiac G6 coupe in metallic black. I got a sweet deal thanks to GM wanting to get them off the lots. It was a demo model, so I had no say, but its a sweet car, I love it! This means I have to 40 hours a month just to make the payment, but it is worth every poopy diaper I change, nose I wipe, and incident reports I write because someone got bit! I just feel like I should be having a mid-life crisis :)

Speakers for my laptop! Great sound but hard to balance on the couch! LOL!! JK...when I use the sound I sit at my desk.
Also bought beautiful copper tafetta curtains for my 12 living room windows. Gorgeous.....I finally changed the color scheme from brown, tan, and light green to copper, gold, burgandy, brown, and yellow.

I've been having trouble lately wearing any shoes that aren't flats. I was shopping the sales yesterday and found a pair of pumps that were really comfy and I bought them. Terribly impractical too! Original price $300 and I got them for $60. I've never owned anything like it.

I went on a bit of a spree at Borders today. I had a gift card and bought a few discount CDs, a Charles Todd mystery, and a book about differentiation in the classroom. Needless to say I spent a bit more than equal to the value of the gift card. I haven't treated myself in a while though so I'm not experiencing any guilt!:p

I went wild at DVD Planet this time & got:

    - 1st season of the 3 Stooges fr my dad's Father's Day gift. We loved watching that B&W show together when I was a child

    - season 3 of the show Family Ties - I LOVED this show, especially Michael J. Fox

    - Money Talks

    - School for Scoundrels

    - season 2 of Sledge Hammer - Not quite as funny as once before (I plan to exchange it for more Family Ties seasons)

My big purchase was two weeks ago. I bought an elliptical machine....a real one! Originally priced at $1299 and on sale for $899. I love it! Give us quite a workout. My next purchase will be a good quality home gym to do some weight training. I figure I'd might as well buy these instead of signing up for gym memberships I'm too lazy to use. There's no excuse I've found for not walking to the next room to get on the elliptical. I don't even have to dress cute and it's okay to sweat.

I've been looking for a nice, traditional area rug for a landing in my condo. All the decent ones were way too expensive. But, I tried Marshall's yesterday and got a 4'x6' sort of Oriental looking one, very thick, for $39.99 on sale. I love it.

We took the girls out yesterday for Easter shoes.

Julia (age 10) was thrilled to find a pair at Payless: zebra print with a pink border and pink bow. They'll go fine with her pink Easter dress. They're also flats and incredibly comfortable, so she'll be able to wear them to school. (Oh, and can I mention the price? $10!!!"

Kira (age 7) was looking for something more sophisticated. So she got a pair of "high heels." (translation: Half inch wedge heels.) The funniest thing is that I have the EXACT SAME pair of shoes-- in black and in white. So I"ll wear my black ones on Easter Sunday just so we'll match. Kira, of course, is the child who is ALWAYS wearing my shoes around the house (and leaving them around for the dog to eat, but that's a different thread. I threw out a pair on Friday.)

Both girls got cute tank top dresses on sale at Justice, and are good to go for Easter. Brian has a new shirt he'll wear with his black Dockers. Peter and I will pull something out of the closet/

    That is a phenomenal price!!

I've got to remember to hit Marshall's more often. I pass one on the way home from school, but never think to stop in. The same goes for Century 21-- there's one about 2 miles away, but in a direction I seldom go. (On a main road; the side streets are easier if I'm headed in that direction.)

But when I do go to either store, I always say I should hit it more often.

Why Century 21? What kind of store is that? I thought that was a realestate agency.
