A knit turtleneck dress from Macy's. It's mostly gray w/ some black & a touch of red. Macy's had a replica in a diff color scheme for $300 because the brand was BCBG. Mine was on sale for $60 & the knit was thicker.

The newest seasons of Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives on DVD. I always wait till the clearance rentals go on sale at Hastings, so they were only about $15 each

I think I win for the most expensive- a house  And a plethora of things to get it move in ready. Anyone have any money I can borrow? I don't recommend purchasing a new car and closing on a house in a 7 week span
Candy for our Halloween party. About $55 worth in two days. I am covering our sidebar in old Ball canning jars, filled with candy corn and m&ms, etc. It's beautiful. I have candles lit over there right now, and it's so cozy and magical. I also bought a ton of beautiful vintage decorations at a local paper boutique, which set me back about $350. But it was all princess party money made on the weekends, so it was fun and ok to blow! Our next major purchase will be a couch. I found one at Z Gallerie (thanks, A-Z friends!), and can't WAIT to get it in here. I hope to have enough saved by Christmas for that.
HOW could I forget????? I totally redid the decor in my bathroom. I got a new shower curtain and liner, bath mats and matching cup and liquid soap dispenser all for 11.38 I love clearance sales.
It's awesome. I've done it for-what?-three weekends now? I think I've made about $700 so far. I spent the first two weekends' money on Halloween stuff. I have $190 from this last weekend that I'm going to get some accessories for our living room with. Then I'm getting serious about saving for our new couch. I picked out this one, and I want to get a matching chair. http://www.zgallerie.com/pc-4766-57-reggie-sectional.aspx
I ordered a very pretty sweater from Avon, a beautiful "bubble bowl" from our local jewelers and I gave it to my friend for kitty sitting, birthday present for our grandson's little friend(and he wanted one like it,) baby shower gift, two birthday gifts for friends I work with, and groceries for a family in need. I guess we're talking about $250.00 worth.
Oil Change for my car $87...blah; yes just the oil change for that much. Sheesh, oil prices need to go down.
TeacherShelly-that's awesome! Apparently someone at my husband's office has a brother that won a 60" TV. The brother is selling it to get the money, and everyone wants it. It was the only topic at a party the other night. I told him we should totally get it and have it at our Halloween party for when they all come over, but our couch faces a window so we can't hang anything. I hope you guys are enjoying it!
ohhh I feel your pain! Just bought my first house this July... those closing costs are a bummer! Just yesterday spent almost 300 dollars on fillings at my dentist. ...I Could have thought of so many other ways to spend that money
Today I got money orders for fingerprints and 30-day sub cert...that's close to spending money on me. At least it means I'll be subbing for a couple months before the student teaching starts
Not very exciting... bleach, laundry detergent, softener sheets, 2 nightlights, and a Halloween tablecloth. I really want to go car shopping and go somewhere for "real" shopping. I live in a rural area and even Walmart is 30 min. away!!
We went to the " big city" yesterday, and I I bought was a few books at the used book store, and some velvet hangers . I wanted to buy more, but couldn't find anything. Today I spent $ 80 at the dentist. I found a new dentist who is WONDERFUL! She was well worth it! I have never had someone sit down with me like she did.
Captin D's seafood. It was my dads bday on the 10th and I offered to go buy him a steak from a local favorite that he loves but he said he was in mood for seafood from there. I said ok its your birthday you can have what you want.
My denist is awesome too. Its him and a dental Hygenist and a secretary in his office that is all. The dental Hygenist is awesome well there are 2 dental hygenists but I ask for this girl beacuse the other hurts me and is not very friendly. This girl has become a good friend of ours and I have started watching her 2 yr old son.
All new furniture for the tv room! (husband said i could spend the money he was saving to buy Cub tickets for the world series) I went the next day before he changed his mind!
I'm sitting here thinking that I bring home some kind of takeout food almost daily...I gotta cut down on that!
I really haven't done much discretionary spending lately. I've gone food shopping, and last night Brian got sneakers and Julia got some warm boots (Gotta love Payless' "BOGO" sales!) Kira got some High School Musical socks as a consolation prize. As to myself, the only things I've bought since September have been button down shirts and blazers. They've become my new wardrobe staples and I needed to stock up.
-a new car -a new TV -new mattresses -new microwave -new toaster -new bedding -new dish sets -new baking sets -new electric heating mattress pad (*excited*) -two new pair of jeans -a new sweater This across two pay checks. 7.38 acres that adjoin our 10.31 acres that will ensure no one can build between us and the blacktop highway. The goats will also love the fresh browse since it is covered in trees and brush. Signed the papers yesterday morning.
