I've received quite a few private messages lately asking me about various reading strategies that I've mentioned using in my class.

I'd like to share a resource with you that I think will benefit *any* teacher, *any* grade level, *any* subject: Project CRISS: Creating Independence through Student-owned Strategies by Carol Santa, Lynn Havens and Bonnie Valdes.

In this book you will find real world, ready to use activities and lessons that will help ALL of your students understand your content more fully. The examples come from all core curriculum levels and all grade levels. It is the "bible" of my classroom.

Anyway, I hope some of you will consider purchasing a copy. Better still, I hope you will convince your principal to have the organizers come train your teachers. You won't be disappointed! :)
