What does it mean to predict and locate when doing a guided reading lesson?

It means to predict and locate a specific word
    Ex.
    T: Say the word look.
    Ss: Look
T:What would you expect to see at the beginning of look? (This is the predicting part)
    S: L
T:Yes. Find the work look on pg 2. Run your finger under it and read the word look. (This is the locating part)
