I have a child in second grade. I did an IRI test on this child and he is reading on a 4th grade level with a 5th grade instructional level. What would be some instructional skills or activites that I could use to help this child along or to help him to keep from getting board?

Wow tiff...thats cool. Is that his fluency or his comprehension? (sorry I don't know what an IRI test is)

To make sure he's not BORED- ( I would hope not bored as stiff as a board):
You could work on deep comprehension, book talk, making connections, writing reading responses, writing book reviews...author studies, genre studies...
