I have been incorporating literature to teach my language arts, social studies, and science for the past 15 years. A wonderful way to teach and keep the students motivated to learn!
This is the problem - I am now teaching 4th grade to help improve test scores at our K-4 school. I need help with some literature ideas (books) to use across the curriculum to teach my language arts, Early U. S. History, and science with our new standards we have in TN. Any Ideas???? This is my first post. Thanks in advance.

    need more books?

Go to Book Wizard and type your themes in the quick search...should be more titles to look at by interest and reading levels.

Also check into good magazines: Scholastic Storyworks, Scholastic SuperScience, OWL Magazine... you can find many examples online. And- TIME for Kids has some wonderful free printables as well. :) As for the books, always be on the lookout and check thrift stores. You never know what you will find.
