This is probably going to sound completely dumb but I have a question about the leveling on Reading A to Z website. I checked their website for an answer but I just want to make sure from experienced teachers who have used that site.

Are the Fountas and Pinnell levels that my students are on the same as the Reading A to Z guided reading book levels? I saw a conversion chart and it says that Reading A to Z books that are level T are actually F & P level P. So does that mean if one of my groups will be working on level P that I should be printing out Reading A to Z level T books to use with them?

    Thanks so much.

According to my district's literacy coaches, F&P does not align with A to Z after I. A to Z is harder than F&P. I have a conversion chart on my computer at school. I can send it to you later if you would like.

If you look at the box on the left side it shows the corresponding levels for other guides and F & P is not the same as A to Z.

    Convenient huh?
