What lessons have you taught using Dr. Seuss? I am new to 5th and teach reading to three classes. I only have an hour per class but would love to incorporate a fun lesson on March 2nd using a Dr. Seuss book. I will be working on Determing Importance as a thinking strategy but could take a break from that and review comparing/contrasting characters, inferring, connections.
    Thanks!

My all time favourite Dr Suess book is 'Oh, the places you'll go'. There's a lot in it about making the right decisions, taking responsibility and understanding that you won't always fly forwards in life but you have to persist. I have read this book to students many times and think it's great. It's good to engage the students in discussions with.
