I'm finally getting my house painted! I've been trying since June to find someone to do it. I'm excited to see the finished product.
I'm stuck at the house from 9am - 5pm because my apt complex is installing new lighting in everyone's apts & they can't narrow down the time frame of when they'll be in my bldg. I wanted to walk this morning, but wasn't able to do it this time & I prefer being home when strangers enter my apt. They're close by now, so they sound like they should be coming in the next 15-20 minutes now. They knocked within about 5 min from the time I typed this.
That was actually the first time since I've moved here that they couldn't break down the time frame narrower than that. The rare other times, they've had a closer time frame. Other than that, I love living here. The new lighting is nice.
I've missed this entire week of school. I'm about stir crazy. I went for a drive today just to get outside.
I thought of having a great weekend where? Maybe to visit some good places to relax somewhere else like Tagaytay.
My daughter passed the bar exam!! We will go to her swearing in in Columbus in a few weeks. So proud of her and her hard work.
Congrats, Missy! Have nothing planned for this weekend and this makes me happy...we've been on the run a lot lately. Looking forward to some nesting today and tomorrow.
Same here. I've been out to get groceries already and am getting ready to get some beef stew going in the slow cooker. The rest of the morning will be laundry and finishing my book!
I't not even 4pm yet, but due to the weather & change time, it feels like it's 8pm in my apt. It's so dark. At least I don't have to go back out anymore today!
Teachers had to work today, and it was one of those days filled with endless stress-inducing meetings. It makes me think that factory work might not be so bad after all. I hate that feeling. I had several things to get done after the meetings, and about 5 minutes before 3:00, we were told that we had to be out of the building by 3:00. (Everyone in the district, not just our building.) No explanation given. We had to go. Very strange. I've done a couple of things at home tonight, although I normally refuse to do school work at home. I had one thing that needed to be done at school, and I can't do it tomorrow because I have early morning duty. Ugh.
Tomorrow, I'm staying cozy at home, alternating relaxing & working, after I run to the post office & since I'll be out, I may get a Jamba Juice smoothie! It was much cooler today & raining last night & earlier tonight.
Ah, today's my 1st day to relax more than I have these last 2 wks! I... went out for a bit, got some fresh air went to Big Lots went to the grocery store swung by the bank got a smoothie Now that I'm back home, I'll... fold towels maybe work some tidy up some make a couple of Christmas cards relax! I'll see the BF later. He went out do some some Christmas shopping! I can't believe this thread's 7 yrs old! Time flies.
I'd had an interesting, yet totally unproductive run at dating for the past year, so I had decided I was done because men were more trouble than they were worth. I'm sure you can guess what happened. I met a really, really nice guy. He's completely unlike my usual choices. Maybe that's the difference. He's also a teacher. Never dated a teacher! Wish me luck.
Yesterday was Christmas Eve at sister's house. Quite warm here and it really doesn't feel like Christmas. My sis put the AC on to overcome the heat ovens were generating! Up early this morning because my adult kids arrive at crack of dawn to pop cinnamon buns in oven and wake us up with hot coffee and gifts.
I'm relaxing at home for most of this Christmas day! My Mom & I had agreed that we'll each stay home & relax at our own places. It's our first Christmas w/o my Dad. My BF will bring something yummy to eat when I see him. We always want to exchange gifts, even if it's just one thing. BTW, I have ALL the episodes of the show Empire recorded & last night was the 1st time I finally started watching them (this show began in Jan of this yr). I watched the first 8 eps last night. I like the show.
All my children (4) and grandchildren(2) are here along with my DIL enjoying hearing them reminisce and playing Monopoly. No greater joy than family getting together anytime of year.
Was at the mall today from 10:00 - 11:15am, & for it being the day after Christmas & it being a Saturday, it wasn't crowded at all, unless everyone was really sleeping in late.
First week of January is in the books. Is anyone else so exhausted they feel like they do the first week of the school year?
I had a good cry Thursday evening, and that helped. I also "talked" with my students on Friday to remind them that they were not in August, and they knew how to behave. Hope tomorrow is better!
I welcomed my snow day today. We called off last night. BF didn't get his call until this morning. We live only 30 miles apart, but in very different terrain.
I know! This week has dragged on so badly. A friend of mine posted on Facebook: It's Thursday, or as I like to call it: Day 4 of the hostage situation.
Yes, I did. We aren't setting a date anytime soon. No rush. I'm divorced. He's widowed. We both are within 10 years of retirement. We both own houses close to our schools.
