This the the place to comment about anything under the sun! I don't view this as a pointless thread because while we probably won't reply to all, as we read through the posts, we may learn something new, so post away! :D

Oh no! I'm starting to get sick! :( My BF, who's only been sick a couple of times in the past several yrs was coughing on Christmas day, Friday, & Sat when I saw him. I was trying my best not to catch it, but I guess that was too good to be true!

I have some cough & cold medicine that I'll take & also some Airborne lying around. I took the Airborne. I'm glad I don't return to work tomorrow!

My hubby has to have my car tomorrow and although I had no plans, I am going crazy trying to think of anything I will possibly need. I have already ran to my class room to get my science stuff *in case* I decide to do lesson plans. :) WHY IS THAT????
    I hate that feeling!

    My feet hurt!

Why do I spend more money than I get in credits when I'm out making returns? Will I be able to stop shopping? Soon?

I'm enjoying playing facebook games with AtoZ members.

I went shopping today with my gift cards that I got for Christmas. I ended up buying stuff for other people and not ME! How did that happen? I got some good deals though so I didn't spend that much. I wish I bought more stuff for me though!

Why do I get my good ideas on the weekends, when no one is open to call and ask questions of? I want to volunteer at the local hospital, reading out loud to the sick kids. I figure I have a ton of time, and I love reading to kids. I could read for hours at a time for them. So I finally thought to research tonight, and the website says I have to take a class that is only offered once a once, and not in January. What the? So I tried to call, and they are not open-big surprise on a Sunday night. Now I'm feeling anxious and panicky, because I thought this would be a great way to still work with kids and spend my time. Now I have to wait a full 15 hours to call them back.

Because this is so important in the grand scheme of things. Sheesh.

Jem, that is a wonderful idea to read to the children at the hospital. At a company I worked for some time ago, there was an individual who volunteered at a cancer ward to read stories to the children. He went in around midnight when many of the children could not sleep.

Good to know! I'm going to call again tomorrow morning. I can't imagine they would turn away someone who wants to help out, just because they don't have an official class in January.

I just made the best mudslides. My mom decided she wanted to celebrate New Year's while we were all home, so I broke out the drinks for a toast. I put chocolate syrup on the rim and down the inside of the chilled glasses, poured in the ice cream/alchohol mix and ta-da! Beautiful and tasty.

Maybe I should be a bartender....

He's type I, so him getting into the candy would be REALLY bad...like hospitalization type bad. It's best to just eliminate the temptation.

I have a cat splayed across my lap. I wish I had a camera handy..I would take a picture and post it. She's so relaxed that her body curves down between my knees where they're not completely together...and she's sleeping right through it.

LOL It was pretty good. I got the recipe from a magazine. When I took the lid off the crockpot it didn't look like the picture in the magazine. That's why I was afraid to taste it. Once I scooped it out it looked ok.

Oh, and no, he only tolerates the cats...the cats belong to ds2...or at least that's what they think. Why do I spend all this money and time on these cats who only love my son??? At least the bitty one likes me as well, but if forced to choose, her loyalties lie with ds2. And, she's puny because she's a former "bottle baby". I rescued her when she fell off the roof of a friend's school when she was only a couple days old. When maitenence went up to see what was going on (after all, kittens don't normally fall off roofs), they found a dead mamma kitty, a couple dead kittens and three that managed to survive. I took this one, and she's the only one of the bunch that survived long term. She's still pretty tiny though.

deedee-my dog will get into the bed with us in the early mornings, curl under the covers for an hour and then move to the end of the bed where he procedes to spread out on his back with all 4 legs sticking out in the air. He kicks at the air so I think he's dreaming of chasing the cat. :) I need to get a picture of him doing that, and post it.

Well, we're halfway through our Christmas break & it actually doesn't feel like it's zipping by like it usually does.

I appreciate those who volunteer. Jem, I hope you enjoy working at the hospital.

Oh, I'll be glad when my new computer arrives!

So, I currently have $80 to spend at Nordstrom. I have one of those Platinum VISA cards where you get $20 for every $2000 you spend. Throughout the yrs, I've gotten so many GCs. I want another B. Makowsky bag.

That's funny! My dog snores & I think it's so cute!

ACK! It is 3:46 GA time and I am wide awake!! I hate that!
I think my body isn't used to being this relaxed and not running at full speed, and so it isn't tired enough. Make any sense?? I'm watching What Women Want with Mel Gibson. I've watched half a dozen Friends. Kids are snoring, dog is snoring, hubby snoring, me---typing away! :)

I think I'm finally going to shut down my computer for the night. I'm not a MySpace person, but I spent the last couple of hrs looking up everyone I could think of (mostly from HS). The most interesting thing I found was my ex-boyfriend, who used to be a Marine. It's a weird feeling to all of a sudden see how someone looks now who I haven't seen in over 10 yrs! It says he's still single, not that I care.

You guys are funny. I worked on the NY Times crossword puzzle until 1:15 a.m. My eyes were closed and I was still holding onto the pencil and paper. I gave up at that point, but did get most of it done.

I'm going to rest my feet today and get stuff done at home. It just looks like the blender spewed out holiday decorations.

Ds2 woke up with a blood sugar of 140  All this holiday eating is doing him in. I have instructions on how to adjust insulin in these "minor" cases, so all is well now, but I need to keep a closer eye on his munching. He's not eating "bad" stuff, just too much of it. *sigh*

He can't use the pump because of his figure skating. In order to train like he needs to, he needs to have it off, but he can't have a pump off for as long as he needs to be on the ice or in off ice classes. It's a delicate balancing act.

Why am I even asking myself why I am so tired?

Why did I turn the heat on this morning? I knew it was going to get warm. Now I'm hot. And why am I not getting up to turn it off? Because I'm too tired.

Why am I not going back to bed? It's too hot.

    Endless cycle.

I think I've got mad cow's disease. Going to bed. Good night.
