How would you feel if your daycare center didn't give any raises last year after being told that money was set aside for raises? How would you feel if your daycare gave out raises this year and the raise was for 10 cents?

I'd be looking elsewhere for employment.

I worked in a daycare for three years without a raise. Yeah! Even people who work in cleaning services with no college education are paid bettter and get a raise at least twice a year.

At my public school preschool job we haven't had a raise in 8 years.

At my private preschool job we hadn't had a raise in 3 years and then got a 1.5% raise last year which turned out to be the same amount that offset the raise in social security so, basically, no raise there either.

Do I like it? No, but the alternative is unemployment or what????

LOL. Our step increases are something like 1%.

How would I feel? Cheated and upset.
What would I do? Find a new job.

    $.10 is better than nothing.

At my school last year we were to get a 2% raise. Which isn't much at all. But I moved to a new state and took a major pay cut. My current school gives $.50 a year.

If I was told I wasn't getting a raise, I would say okay, be upset for a bit and then move on. I would not look for a new job, as most jobs have a lower starting rate then what I make. I would end up losing money.

I would feel under paid. Since most day care teachers are underpaid to begin with, I would be very angry. I know I would make a big stink--just my personality. Then, my supervisor would make a big red checkmark on my file, and my chances of getting anywhere would be zip.
