We do this too, we had many of these, plus quilting, southwest, a children's library of books, a baby basket (blankets, onesies, booties etc), "craft foods" such as dry soup in a jar, homemade cocoa, bread mix, dry cookie mix.

We do this too and there is always one person who shows off by purchasing extravagant items to make their basket. IT's so unfair to the rest of the classroom who truly get students to donate the contents. I think I'll just stuff a basket full of money!! HAHA NOT!!!
Seriously! I'm doing the usual. It will be whatever the kids come up with.

Our student council asks each class to make a themed basket for their Bingo, Basket, and Baked Goods night. Along with the themed baskets there were two special baskets that parents, faculty, and students could take chances on rather than be raffled off. The one basket was a gift certificate from Macy's. I happened to be in the store, saw the manager, and asked if they ever help out schools. He said sure. I explained what the Student Council was doing (all proceeds went to the town ambulance corp) He told me to wait and he returned with an envelope that had a $100 shopping spree to the store. Wow! It pays to open your mouth sometimes. The second basket was called "Shop Locally" and held gift certificates from 10 - 12 stores in the town. I just visited each store and asked if they'd like to donate a service or gift cert. Each raffle ticket cost $1. Just another idea if you want to do something different with your baskets.
