Ours were hard cover. The kids got them free at the end of the year. Grades K-8. Private school.

Our district is small (k-12 400 kids) so we do one yearbook for the entire district and it is hardcover.
When I was in school, our elementary/jr high yearbook was softcover.

My current school doesn't have a yearbook, but at my school last year, I was the yearbook sponsor. For our K-5 Elementary school, we had a softcover yearbook that cost $25.00

We are a K-8 parochial school; we have a softcover yearbook that all kids get for free at the beginning of the next school year (graduating 8th graders are sent with siblings or mailed).

Our graduating 4th graders have an option of a hard-cover. All others get soft cover.

When I was in 5th grade it was about 20 pages from the copy machine stapled together. My school now has had hardcover in the past, but last year was the last year for it period because it was such a pain. They are probably going to make a DVD more of a digital scrapbook/powerpoint of pictures instead but it isn't finalized.

At my daughter's K-6 school they have both, the softcover about two dollars less than the hardcover.

We are actually doing a DVD as a yearbook this year. We are a small school, so we have never had any type of yearbook. We have been taking pictures all year and will compile all of our pictures to make a yearbook.
