I downloaded Dibels and instructions on how to give it. I believe I know the answer but just want some reassurance.

I was going to administer the fluency, retelling for 2nd grade. There are 3 passages for each interval. Does the student read the 3 passages with retelling in 1 sitting? So that would be 6 min for the student all at once.

Yes if you are doing a "benchmark" reading session then the student will read the first story, then story two and finally story 3 all in one session. While they are reading then you will mark what they miss during the reading and total what is left for their "fluency rate" within the one minute time. You would then take the middle term for their actual "fluency rate". If it's a "progress monitor" (for those students that have tested "red" or "yellow" with the "benchmark") then the student only reads one story in one minute. You follow the same procedure as far as error marking.

Sounds simple. I'll try it out. Thanks
