Vote: Which name do you like best? Why (if applicable)?
Lily - It's not used too much and it just sounds pretty and kinda old fashioned.
I love this name.
Lily! It just flows off the tongue very easily.
I'm partial to Ella. It was one of my name contenders when I was having my daughter. My hubby vetoed Ella but I liked it. I wanted to call her Ellie though.
Lily, here. I love old fashioned type names. Plus, this is very pretty. I also like Ella a lot too.
My nieces name is Lily. I am partial to it
My name is Charlotte...hehe
I like Ella.
Lily. It's pretty, feminine, the flower is beautiful. Everyone is using Ella nowadays
I like Lily - short for Lilyana
I love Ella. Just do. So pretty.
But I always try to think of the rhymes that the other kids will come up with for the names--Silly Lily, Ella Smell-a, don't have one for Charlotte.
I like Lily and Ella, but as another poster mentioned, Ella is getting used more often....so my vote is Lily.
I like Lily or Charlotte
I like Ella and Lily. Ella because it could be short for Isabella (which by the way is one of my girl names), and Lily because like others have said it rolls off your tongue.
Lily and Ella are quite popular names around here and for good reason! They fit a person young and old!
I have a friend Charlotte who uses that name professionally but uses "Charlie" for her fun nickname. I love it!
Charlotte was my first choice for baby names - but I had 2 boys! It was my grandmother's name.
Thank you everyone! What are your favorite names for a boy or a girl?
Well.... My boy names are family names. William is what I want to name my first boy, and give him the family middle name. A child in each generation has the middle name. I'm my generation, my dad is his generation. I'm also partial to several old Irish names as well.
For a boy I like Damian.
For a girl I like Ava.
I actually have a very long list...but those are my tops.
Dito... My niece is 7 months old (totaly adorable, but I may be biased)
Not only is it Harry Potter's mother's name, but one of my best friends. We're naming our daughter Elsa if we have one, and we though Elsa Lily sounded nice.
If we have a boy, he'll be Theodore, Teddy for short (also Harry Potter's godson, Tonks and Lupin's son). Theodore is also my husband's grandfather's name-he was a famous opera singer and his grandmother is still obsessed with him, even after his death. We figure we'll get all the inheritance if we have another 'Ted'.
My vote goes to Lilly as well!
Ella and Lily very popular baby names around here.
I like Lily because of how it sounds. I also like Charlotte cause it's uncommon and there are a lot of fun nicknames you can use with it.

Lily-Part of my great-grandmother's name-Lillian
Ella and Lily are very popular right now. I would go with Charlotte because it isn't as popular. Also, lots of names go well with Charlotte!
I like Isabella then you could nickname her either Izzy or Bella or Ella, I like the idea of multiple nicknames.
I like both Lily and Ella. I consider a lot how a name looks written in cursive, and both are beautiful in cursive. I'm not partial to Charlotte, but that's only because for some reason I don't pronounce it well. I'm not good at saying Joy either...it comes out "Joey" unless I think about it.
I've always wanted to have a daughter named Ella and call her Ellie.

Ella and Charlotte are my favorites. Lily reminds me of a character on my college roommates soap opera. The character wasn't very nice as I recall.
I like Ella...thought if I ever had a baby girl...had a boy though!!
Androgynous names? Aiden, Tyler (esp. for a girl), Kelly, Andy/Andi
I agree on Lily, and I also kind of like the idea of using Charlie for Charlotte.
Not to turn the name topic to dogs or anything, but on the multiple nickname idea- I have a dog whose original name was Izzie... she is now called everything from Isobel, Belle, Belly, Bella, Izzybelle, you name it she's got it.. that is one name you can do a WHOLE bunch with!
Just 'cuz it sounds so pretty. AND I've never had a student named Ella.
Ella and Lily. I like short and simple names. I like Ella b/c you can call her Ellie

I like Lily the best and Charlotte the least. I used to live near a Charlotte when growing up.. got tired of her mom yelling for her as well as the other neighbors' kid Lisa!!
Lily...what a beautiful name!
Charlotte. Reminds me of the movie Charlotte's Web! :2up: It reminds me of someone who has a lot of wisdom.
I love Charlotte.
*I love Sex and the City*
