I have an interview today at 10:00 with the superintendent. This is not a "formality interview" it is a real interview.

What types of questions should I ask her at the end of the interview?

Thanks so much! Hopefully I will get this job and then I wont be a pain in the arse to anyone any more! haha!

    :p :thanks:

First, I'd say definitely don't ask anything you could find out on their website or that you've already asked the interview committee when you had your first interview - I'm assuming this is a second interview? If you haven't already asked, how about asking about what programs they have for new teachers or if you will get a mentor. You can ask about extracurricular activities and programs. This would be a good time to mention a skill or hobby you have that you'd like to start a club or after school program for. From what I've heard, administrators absolutely love it if you will take part in after school activities. I wouldn't ask about salary or benefits until you are offered the job. Hope this helps!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

A Good question to ask is "What is your favorite thing about your school?"

During one of our student teaching seminars, we had a panel of administrators come in and talk to us about the interview process. Some of the questions they recommended asking were:

asking about the mentoring program (In IA it is mandatory for a new teacher to have a mentor for the first 2 years)

asking about types of leadership opportunities or committees available to serve on

what the school does to build community or team building

All that said, he said the most important question is to ask questions that are sincere and you can follow through on. For example, don't ask what leadership opportunities are available and then not take advantage of anything.

    Good luck with the interview!

What to do now---take a deep breath, pat yourself on the back for all the hard work paying off, call everyone you know, and then sit back and celebrate tonight. For me it didn't seek in for a couple of days!

    Thank you all so much!

I just asked if there were any teacher mentor programs for beginning teachers in the district.

    And there are! Yay!
