One of my co-teachers unfortunately has to resign midyear for health reasons and the new hire is coming in Thursday to observe the classes and will take over at the end of the month.

She is a brand new teacher, what do you think I should talk to her about, any essential questions I would regret not asking her? Thanks.

I think that the questions asked depend on the co-teaching situation...

Are you both general education teachers (one teaching LA/ one teaching history)? Is one teacher a general education teacher and one a special education teacher, reading teacher, math specialist, etc?

When you co-teach now, do you both teach the lessons or does one teacher primarily do the teaching while the other teacher is more for support?

Since there are a number of co-teaching models, I'd suggest letting the new teacher know exactly what is expected of her in regards to teaching, planning, grading, etc. Let her know the usual ebb and flow of the partnership between you and your previous co-teacher.
