When I was a student in high school, my teacher showed our class a video clip that was cartoon-like. In it, it showed a fictitious country that used a free market barter system. Then, it began to use shells as a form or currency. I'm trying to find this video clip. Does anyone have any idea as to what this may have been? I'm looking for resources next year to teach fourth graders about economic systems. Our focus is on Maryland, but since we are a PYP school, we are looking for resources to help students make global connections. I found the Schoolhouse Rocks song clip, but really want something that goes more in depth and the video I remember watching showed the country develop over time.

Not the one you're looking for, but the FTC has some great videos/interactive activities for kids.

I think you are referring to the Kingdom of Mocha. If not it's a great video

I'll take a look at the site for resources. Thank you for the suggestion.
