    Hey Everyone,

I'm not a teacher but wondering-

    1) How much time do Elementary/Secondary Teachers spend at the beginning of the year drawing up the daily/weekly schedule that fits in all of the required subjects & minutes spent on each as dictated by the cirriculum?

    2) Is this task currently done manually or by computer? If manual, would a computer program that helps create this/lays out options/significantly reduces time taken, be of any benefit?

    Cheers

Our schedule is mostly predetermined by our principal- he has to schedule all the specialists, computer labs, etc. He allows us to fill in the blanks, so to speak, so we usually just stick with what we've done previously. This year I think it took maybe 15 minutes. I did it on paper first, then must send it electronically to him.

I do not feel I would benefit personally from a program like one that you suggest.

I'm wondering your take on these questions? How would you answer each? Can you get the ball running by offering some answers?

This poster seems like someone who creates such programs and might want to try and sell them here.

My schedule is made the same as queenie's but I also have the option to switch around subjects at any time as long as it's written into the lesson plan.
