    :haha:

For the past couple of years, I have done a lot of team building activities the first week. One of the things my kiddos like (3rd graders) is when I hand all four (or five) table groups identical puzzles in ziplock bags, and the first team to finish wins. I'm considering changing this a little this year. It's time to replace my puzzles, and I'm considering using 4-5 different puzzles, all with the same number of pieces (250-300). Ideas? I'd love to read your reasons for your reasoning, lol.

I have done this activity. I first make them tell me the strategy they are going to use to build the puzzle. They have to write it down. After all have finished we discuss strategies and then they try it again with a different puzzle.

About how long does it take them to do a 300 piece puzzle?

How about finding puzzles with fewer pieces and make groups put them together while communicating ONLY nonverbally. This would be great for problem solving.

I have a challenging group coming up, and would welcome any ideas for team/community building activities.
